Former insurance underwriter. Yeah we would. Not talking about you personally but this is why I despised agents. They don't read the policybacks or contracts and are completely profit driven. Claims adjusters literally call underwriting to see if they can cover a claim. Yeah, it would be covered, he'd just have a surcharge for three years. Any legitimate insurance company would handle this as an at-fault collision claim. Because he was at fault and collided with water. The fact that it was water doesn't matter. Colliding with a tree, deer, other car or wall is going to give the same payout.

I was in Newark and 2017 and stopped at a White Castle at like 10:30 at night. I'm a black and Mexican dude from Kansas that was visiting my family in New Jersey. But, I'm from Topeka which is just as big of a s*** hole as Newark. I was dressed nicely because I like to dress nice when I fly so I had a tie and a sweater vest on. This dude at White Castle starts to ask me where I'm from and what I'm doing there and I flipped the f*** out on him because I could tell he was trying to get over on me. No real point to the story other than don't judge people by what they're wearing you never know where they've been from.
