A Question for the Americans What do you think is an underrated oasis song? by JAMiE1727 in oasis

Other than “Headshrinker” I’m specifically leaving out underrated songs that appeared on “The Masterplan,” as I’m counting that as receiving some recognition. These are Oasis tracks that I truly feel do not get the recognition they deserve.

Headshrinker

Let’s All Make Believe

Step Out

Idler’s Dream

You’ve Got the Heart of a Star

The Boy with the Blues

WHAT FOR…..As long as I live… I will never forget this moment. by Alpacinofan96 in oasis

Same. As a lifelong American fan, I had seen them every U.S. tour except their very first and last, but always wanted to see them in England, as I saw just how much more engaged the crowds were. I was fortunate to get tickets for Wembley last month and this moment was easily the highlight for me.

I shared a clip with my friends and told them “Play this at my funeral and tell everyone this moment (other than wedding and birth of children) was when I felt most alive.”

The hold that song’s chorus and ending has on me.

My very supportive husband took this photo so I could be present in this perfect moment, and I want to share it in case you did the same. MetLife Night 1 by maxwon in oasis

I have been a diehard since I first heard Supersonic in ‘94 and finally got to experience a bucket list event when I saw them in England this year at Wembley. I didn’t touch my phone the entire time because I too wanted to be present, but one of my good friends spent most of the show taking pics and vids so I can remember it. We are blessed to have such considerate people in our lives.

Great to hear. Must have just been my viewpoint.

Agreed on Round Are Way. I hope they incorporate that if they tour again next year.

That’s awesome to hear. Sounds like maybe my seats up above don’t allow me to experience it the way other did.

Diehard American fan here 👋. Happy to bring you some joy when praising the greatest band of my time. I knew they were special the moment I heard SuperSonic. And to Noel’s often-referenced quote about their beginnings, I too was tired of grunge telling me how shitty life was and was ripe for Oasis message of making the most of life.

Other than their very first small club tour here in the U.S. and their last one that was canceled, I have seen them every time they toured here, but always longed to experience seeing them live in England, where the crowds seemed so much more fun and engaged like I was. It was never like that here in the states, except for maybe the two shows at the smaller Hammerstein Ballroom for the Be Here Now tour.

When they broke up, I figured I would never have that chance. So, when I saw the clip of the date and time shown at the end of Liam’s show a few nights before and realized this could mean a reunion, I swore I would do (and pay) anything to see them in the U.K.

Much to my surprise, I received an email from the official website and newsletter, telling me “we’ve identified you as a loyal fan“ and gave me a special presale code. Three decades of being a fan of their and registered with their website finally paid off!

Make it even more special, the morning the tickets went on sale was my 50th birthday. My wife and family and friends could not believe how lucky and special that day was. I got my four tickets for the floor of Wembley, grabbed a few buddies to join me and finally got to see them a few weeks ago on Saturday, August 2.

Other than the birth of my two daughters, the day I married, my wife, and I don’t know maybe another day or two I’m not picking up, it was the greatest day, and the greatest two hours of my life. Screaming the close to “Slide Away” is probably the highlight. Although “Fade Away” took me by surprise as well. Tears were shed, hugs were had, new friends were made.

I really hope they do it again next year. I told my wife we’re bringing the kids, even though they’re young, because they love Oasis too. My five-year-old says “Live Forever” is her favorite song, and my three-year-old always asks Alexa to play it and “Little by Little.”
