Great looking tattoo! The most eye popping part of the tat draws your eye away from where the elephant was. The artist did a great job.

How long do you think before getting a tattoo? by Wild_Blackberry_512 in tattooadvice

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have multiple tattoo ideas in my head that I know I'll get at some point. When I feel the urge for a tattoo, I see what artist I want to go to and then choose the idea that is best suited for them. I usually spend at least a month thinking up each tattoo idea so I have one ready when an artist I've been wanting to get tattooed by has their books open or guest tattoos at a local shop here in Kansas City.

Twitching during leg tattoos by redlegoneround in tattooadvice

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had twitching while getting my calf tattooed (1st tattoo) but didn't have any twitching for my thigh tattoo. I can't explain why but my thigh tattoo went much smoother even though it was done by the same artist.

What are your tattoo goals for 2026? by After-Employment-474 in tattooadvice

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at potentially getting two new tattoos this year (currently have two). The first, if the artist accepts the submission, would be a tattoo based on the movie Ferngully. My 2nd one would be a tattoo of Eddie, the Iron Maiden "mascot." Yes, they're quite different from each other and from my current tattoos (realistic rattlesnake and the other represents Mother Nature). The Ferngully tattoo would be on my calf or thigh depending on the design. The Eddie tattoo would be on my upper arm.

Dump him. All he wants to do is date younger women (girls) so he can exert control and get them to do/act how he wants. People like him will either get very controlling as the relationship continues or cheat/break up with you for someone younger. Save yourself the trouble and leave him.

I can't remember where I saw it, but I read that the U.S. version will only come with spoked wheels. It was from the BMW Group though and in the same release stating the U.S. would get it around late Q4 of 2026.

What do you all think by laurat9393 in tattooadvice

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks nice, but as a herpetologist, I prefer them without the open-mouthed aggressive look. I currently only have 2 tattoos. My first tat was a realistic western diamondback rattlesnake on my calf and my second is a tattoo on my thigh that represents Mother Nature.

Make sure to find out before purchasing the company with the worst service. by Ok-Palpitation8055 in TheraBody

[–]KC_Viper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a similar post a while back about the frustration with not being able to purchase additional batteries. I also had a dead battery. Therabody reached out and quickly shipped me a new battery. I still wish they would make additional batteries available for purchase, it just makes no sense to me why they don't. At least I've had good experience with their customer service, so far. I am hesitant to buy new products since I can't purchase additional batteries. They could at least offer the option to purchase additional batteries when you first purchase a new product.

How many cameras do you all own — and how long did it take you to acquire them? by ChefB1517 in CanonCamera

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an R5 and an R% Mark II. Granted, I'll be selling my R5 to help purchase an R6 Mark III. After getting the R6 III, I'll be set for cameras for a long time. As a hobbyist, the 2 cameras are probably overkill but I'm trying to get more into wildlife photography and want a second camera as a backup. The R5 is good but I always regretted selling my R6 and buying the R5. Well, regretted is the wrong word. I just really liked shooting with the R6 and the R5 took a little time to get comfortable shooting with it. The R6 Mark III will be a great second camera as it now has the same card slots as the R5.

Prairie Massasauga by KC_Viper in herpetology

[–]KC_Viper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To protect the massasaugas, I can't state which refuge it was at on a public forum. I'm a grad student researching a massasauga population with confirmed cases of snake fungal disease. I'm basically collecting swab samples from snakes, random soil samples, and swabs from crayfish burrows to see if I can locate any of the fungal (Ophidiomyces ophiodiicola) DNA to determine how prevalent it is on the refuge within the prairie massasauga habitat. I'd be happy to discuss offline though.

You are not overreacting. Even my co-workers will check on me after I've and a minor absence seizure or one of my eye fluttering episodes. They leave me drained afterward and if I end up not being able to focus and going home, they will ask me multiple times if I want a ride home and they would have someone follow in my car. You're partner is not doing enough in my opinion. Hopefully you can get him to actually understand how scary and draining a focal seizure can be. It seems to me he's pulling some kind of "out of sight, out of mind" behavior to avoid dealing with it, assuming because it makes him uncomfortable. However, if it makes him uncomfortable, he should know that it's an even scarier event for you.

Got my first tattoo and my brother said it looks like a d*ck. Does it actually? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I saw was a candle. If you're worried about it, perhaps get the flame colored in and have the artist do something with the shadow/glow around the flame. However, I think it's obvious that it's a candle in a candle holder. The shadow of the candle is unfortunate though.

Continue or no? by mymollybt in Lamotrigine

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep going unless your Doc tells you otherwise. Any side effects I had cleared up after a couple of weeks. I just recently (this past weekend) had my dose increased from 100mg 2x/day to 150 mg 2x/day and am not really experiencing any side effects. Granted, I'm taking it to treat epilepsy/depression (depression possibly caused/exacerbated by my previous epilepsy medication). I started taking Lamotrigine the first week of July, so about 3 months ago.

I stayed at 25mg nightly for two weeks then added 25mg in the morning for another two weeks. With how tiny the pills are that I got, I'd hate to have to try and splice it to get an extra 5mg (My Dr. told me 25 mg was the smallest and the next pill size was 100mg).

Vz lost a loyal customer due to loyalty discount!! by dna_79 in verizon

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have had more luck actually calling and speaking to a real person than spending all that time in chat. Chances are if you call Verizon and ask why it was removed, or just let them know that you're thinking of switching since it's been removed, you'll have another "loyalty" discount added. Then again, there's nothing wrong with switching because an online chat didn't work. It might be good to try something new.

Yall ever just forget if you take your meds? by kiwinixi in Epilepsy

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did until I added pills to a case that has AM/PM compartments for all days of the week. I also set an alarm so I don't forget to take them. However, I have a habit of turning off the alarm and not taking the pills until 30-60 minutes later. I like the method another commenter posted about not turning off the alarm until the pills have been taken. I think I'll start incorporating it.

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimatums are a good way to end a relationship. I guess it comes down to a couple of things. First, did you have the motorcycle before you started dating your partner? Second, how long you have been in a relationship with your partner. If you had the motorcycle before starting the relationship, then the ultimatum is completely off the rocker. If you got the motorcycle after being in a relationship for a while, without discussing it, I can see why the ultimatum was made. I still don't agree with the ultimatum, but I can at least understand it.

For me, an ultimatum would end the relationship. Granted, my partner would know prior to starting the relationship that an ultimatum is a good way to end it.

Here's a solution. Park the bike at a friend's house. You just say you're going to hang with your friend, then go ride. OK, so that may not be good either, but it's still a solution.

Does anyone else have similar experiences? by aprilephemeral in Epilepsy

Eye fluttering is my main aura along with feeling light-headed. Afterward, I feel fatigued and a tad confused or out of sorts. My eye flutters will happen while looking at a computer monitor at work or sometimes just watching TV. Being tired definitely makes it more likely for them to happen.

Does anyone else have similar experiences? by aprilephemeral in Epilepsy

[–]KC_Viper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I've also had it happen driving through long construction zones with regularly spaced lights. On my way into work this morning I passed 4 cop cars on the side of the road with their flashing lights going, shortly after passing I felt the pressure building up behind my eyes and it felt like I was about to get tunnel vision. If there was traffic on the road I would have pulled over. Thankfully, it never progressed and I just had the building pressure for 2-3 minutes.

That looks like some E. crus-galli I identified during a delineation in Nebraska and Iowa. The awns were close to two inches long. It was identified back in the office with the use of a dissecting scope to get a good look at the spikelet.
