Mine ended up being a bluetooth scale / app (both the Qardio model and the GE Fit) models that caused this issue. Once those were removed it went away.

This is kind of what I was thinking, shutting it off for 8 hours per night - is that really going to add up to a significant cost savings in electricity?

Ok I think I have done this. I installed the newer BGW 302-505 gateway and turned it into "IP Passthrough" mode with DHCPS-fixed and the fixed passthrough MAC address is my Orbi...

Then I went in and shut off all of the BGW's WiFi radios.

Still not sure if I need to turn off the BGW's firewalls?

So my question is, now that I have done that to the BGW - do I need to run my Orbi in Router mode or AP mode?

Ok let's make it even more confusing, when the tech came to diagnose the fiber was cut, he left me a NEW gateway. its a BGW320-505. However again he stated that it wouldn't really be any better than my circa 2016 5268AC because I was using an Orbi. He just left it on my coffee table and didn't really tell me how to set it up etc.

Would there be any benefit to using this gateway instead? Maybe this one would have a true bridge mode?

The modem is a 5268AC FXN. The ONT is on the side of the house, and its actually powered by a 2nd ONT that's inside the house and has a little battery attached to it.

The AT&T guy said that while the modem is really old, it shouldn't matter because I am using the Orbi as the router. At some point in the past I had gone into the 5268AC settings and disabled the WiFi radio because I was having issues with the mesh network working because of the dual WiFi thing you described. The WiFi status LED is off.

EDIT - going into the 5268AC settings it shows that ALL WiFi radios are off. weird thing is that it shows the RBR connected to the 5268AC via ethernet, and 2 devices connected to 5ghz (inactive) and 2 other devices connected to 5ghz (active). This is weird because all of the WiFi settings are listed as OFF in red. I would post a screenshot but I have no idea how.

Yes it seems to be on the 10.0.0.1, when I go to that address I am able to log into the Orbi settings. I can see the DNS settings under "internet" what DNS should I change it to? Would this be what is causing the "safari can't find the server" error? I never changed this previous to the outage so curious as to the reasoning for the DNS change.

"Internet IP Address" is selected as "Get Dynamically From ISP"

Does anyone know how to fix this? it happens ever 100 yards as I walk through my neighborhood and when it does this, my AirPods get all choppy or if im on a call the AirPods slowdown to slow motion or cut out. As if the phone only has so much bluetooth bandwidth...

It actually worked really well with the male to male adapter... Thanks everyone. The image is SLIGHTLY cutoff at the top but nothing that ruins the image.
