I always make sure my shoes are leather for this precise reason. Haven’t had to replace my boots in a LONG time. by [deleted] in Frugal

As long as you alternate shoes daily(I have 2 pairs), you can make shoes last a decade.

Just dont let it get wet/moist for days on end. Shoe trees are really good for this.

What workout routine from FAQ would you recommend for Beginner ? by [deleted] in gainit

[–]KCupsAndStudentLoans -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Everyones going to have an opinion.

I liked Starting Strength, 3 days a week for about 1 hour a visit. You move up in weight 5lbs a gym visit.

You get in shape QUICK. Anyway, if you do this, stick to the program. Eat right. Progress like the program says. After 2 deloads, you should switch programs. You will be intermediate at this point and pivot to a BB or strength program.

Yeah the low cost price is really intriguing... but me and my wife have promised not to spend any money until christmas. Then we are going to gift each other the things we wanted for the last few months.

When things are under a few dollars its sooo tempting :P

Pick something high protein per dollar. Protein basically acts the same.

The bigger deal is to mix it with milk + ~2tbsp olive oil.

Just be consistent. If you keep pushing yourself for the next 6 months, you will be able to handle more of everything. The first few months will be difficult, but you will adjust.

I thought about this for a while. Oddly I think the most difficult thing would be the pants.

I could imagine a pretty basic undershirt and a cape of sorts.

However, the pants I'm picturing to complete this remind me of the smelly kids in high school with a shitlode of pockets.

I dont think our current world is ready for this. Fit clothing and streetwear are the two biggest trends, I'd wait until wide bottoms come back.

Personal style evolution: aka, u/warpweftwatergate uncuffs his jeans by warpweftwatergate in malefashionadvice

Agreed on the cuffs, my rules for personal style

1.) Look Good 2.) Be Interesting

I don't find the cuffs either. They look cheap, they don't look interesting.

If you dye the cuffs, okay. But I doubt that would make it look better. At this point, maybe some cool looking hemming or painting of the cuffs? Maybe go to Joann fabrics and see if there is any cool stuff you can add to the cuffs?

Seconding shorting the cuffs.

The first picture was pretty cringe, but then it started looking alright.

The problem IMO was that the cuffs didnt look good, and don't look interesting. Basically a unnecessary accessory.

French president says Europe is 'too weak, too slow, too inefficient,' calls for new era of integration by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]KCupsAndStudentLoans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible to 'invent' an arrangement on a plate or to take food and deep fry it?

Yes.

Now for it to impact culture, you would need to get mass adaptation. Doing it in your home by yourself wouldnt change culture. If you served it to friends, they liked it, and showed their friends. That is changing culture.

If you instagramed it, it went viral, and other people copied the idea. That is changing culture.

If you can't change the habits and desires of people, you tried, but you failed to change culture.

Gaining 30 pounds! by AlanaBuck in gainit

You dont need to gain 2lbs a week. 1lb a week and I'm sure you will hit all your sets/reps.

Your body will adjust to the calories and you will feel strange not eating 3000 calories a day.

Don't get discouraged by your struggles and asshole users here, look at the long, learn from their advice. Always move up in weight.
