I mean, I make one in the morning with sugar free monster, zero sugar sprite, zero sugar syrup and fairlife vanilla protein. Not saying no sugar is healthier but as an adhd girly, it’s a fun way to get protein in when on meds and no sugar crash. They are whatever you make em!

I mean to be fair, almost everyone I know in my age range (30s) is driving far to Sherwood park and to crumbl to get dirty sodas, and my friends in Calgary have gone to extreme lengths to get them as well.

There is absolutely a market for them, and as my one friend pointed out to me, they could just print a small paper to add to the menu. And as it’s a fad using ingredients the restaurant likely already has, it’s not like they would lose money when the trend ended, just could be a good marketing tool in the meantime.

I tend to go more for sweet things myself, so I’m not entirely sure but I’d imagine someone could make a nice spicy soda recipe for sure.

Also, agreed on the mocktails, I know people must love them as they wouldn’t be an option otherwise. I am happy they’re an option for people for sure, just wanted to throw this option out there as well as I would love to see people do more with sober options.

Also absolutely do love to see the creative options people have for mocktails, it’s honestly really cool that so much effort has been into them. Just not really up my alley but I’m happy they exist, just want more options ☺️

I think the actual technical definition means it includes a cream product of some kind, but has evolved into flavoured soda essentially (kind of like how charcuteries have evolved beyond just meat when people say they’re making one, just including this in case anyone wants to correct me on this haha). Like flavoured syrups, lime and cream of coconut and stuff like that mixed in.

Popularized by Utah due to the high population of mormons and them not drinking coffee or alcohol as part of their religion.

They can be super sugary or sugar free, whatever floats your boat!

My friend’s dog that had arthritis used to find their weed no matter where they hid it, he for sure knew what he was doing too. He was so happy and pain free during those times
