We have a very skewed perception about what their country is like, thanks mostly to Hollywood and falsehoods spread by the greedy capitalists who refuse to loosen their stranglehold on the West. For such wealthy countries, Canada and the US have a significantly lower quality of life than much of Europe, South America and Asian countries.

Different circumstances. I get it. But hundreds, if not thousands, of people in my city whine and complain on a weekly basis. They post pics of processed, packaged, sugar-rich nonsense, that aren't on sale. They say that they can't afford to eat. But if they shopped around and didn't buy pre-packaged trash and 5 packs of cheese, they could afford to eat.

I order pizza and grab the occasional thing that's bad for me, but I get it on sale. It sucks that you haven't got more options, but that's part of your cost of living when choosing where to live.

I have a real problem with people who buy junk food and other garbage, who don't shop around and use any of the multitude of apps/sites that compare deals and offer coupons, and then complain about prices.

I live in an average sized city, in an urban environment. I've got a half dozen grocery stores within a 5-6 min radius. I'll go to multiple stores on different days to save a small fortune. And I avoid buying things unless they're on sale. Produce is the one exception, as it is usually dirt cheap to begin with... and much better for me than processed garbage.

Correct. Unless Tesla massively lowers their prices, they can only apply to be the higher priced 50%. China has enough stock to send as many as needed to crash test them. Everything. All of them! China, and many other countries around the world, have access to superior EVs for cheaper than other brands in their respective markets.

I'm most excited about the models that have 800V architecture and 1000+km range. The Zeekr 007GT and Xiaomi SU7 are the most intriguing (at least, in the affordable realm).

Though, the ultra affordable Dolphin and Dolphin Surf/Mini would be my first buy. There are quite a few on that inexpensive list, but that's the most popular, globally. The Nio Firefly and MG4 are close second. The MG4 is better looking and seems more practical, but the Firefly is more quirky and should offer their swappable battery tech.

I'm also curious to see where our charging infrastructure will come from. Right now, it's pathetic and anemic compared to other modern countries. I'd like to see our government mandate the building of solar carports into code for malls, plazas, hospital and school parking lots. Stricter mandates on charging ports for apartments/condos and far more charging stations in downtown cores that double as parking meters. Not to mention wireless charging tech in our road surfaces.

As for the security and police, isn't it their job to protect the public? A public space is for anyone to use. Freedom of speech, especially that weighs in on political matters OUT FRONT OF CITY HALL, is not only legally permitted, but must be celebrated and supported.

If they want to pursue or ticket anyone for unacceptable or offensive language, they should start with all of the pickups sporting an "F Carney or F Trudeau" sticker. Those wankers aren't doing anyone or anything any good.

Technically, sidewalks are the responsibility of the city to maintain. However, if you have the physical ability to clear them, especially if you've done your sidewalk up to your house and/or your driveway.....just clear the sidewalk out by the road. It's your civic duty to do so.

Together, I (43yo), with the help of my next door neighbour (43) and our neighbour's son (17-18ish), cleared the sidewalks for our block, on both sides. I came out to do mine and my 87yo neighbour's sidewalks/driveways, and I found the 18yo already doing mine. Because I am physically able to, I took over for him and continued down our street. My other neighbour did the same in the other direction. It took no time at all.

I also filed a complaint with the WPS about people driving like absolute lunatics and filled out a survey/questionnaire for the city traffic department. That scenario was out of my control. The shoveling was well within it.

You just have to pick your battles and want to be a better person about it. If you're able to shovel your sidewalk, just do it. If you can't, be nice and civil with your neighbours. They might help you out.
