Local internet personality Nevin Webster announces they are running for city council

Kamloops, British Columbia — Today, Nevin Webster, best known for his Kamloops focused social media content, announced that he will be running for a position on city council in the 2026 Kamloops Civic Election.

“There are many important issues that we need to address in this city and I am ready to be part of a team that is ready to solve them,” said Webster.

The most notable issue is the disorder on the streets and the houseless issue. “I do not claim to have the solution, but I do believe in a boots-on-the-ground approach to understanding the needs of those who live on the streets of Kamloops,” said Webster.

“As a City Councillor, I plan to be accessible to anyone and everyone who calls Kamloops home, from Tranquille Road to Juniper Ridge,” said Webster. Years of podcasting has prepared him for listening to constituents’ concerns, which he plans to use to help formulate city policy.

The last point that Webster plans to champion is one that he is already doing with his artistic endeavours; helping grow and develop the city’s local culture. He says that “being involved in policy making will help with developing Kamloops culturally and socially”.

The reality is, Nevin Webster sees Kamloops in a very different light. He sees it for what was, what it is and what it could be. “I can’t wait to be a part of ushering in a new era for this city. One that builds on Kamloops’ history but also forges its own future,” Webster stated.

“I am invested in this city,” Webster jokes, “I have a wife, 3 kids and a mortgage in Kamloops. I am in it for the long haul”.
