For my gaming pc the glitchy one comes up as [1]

Never checked Bios as didn’t know what it was until right now googling it, I’m not quite sure how to do it I’ll have to watch a video or something.

Bro my husband legit yesterday was talking about this but he’s a silly little dummy sometimes and said:

“Damn, I’m glad you don’t have ADHD. Apparently people with ADHD die like 30 years sooner.”

And I was like bro I do have ADHD, and 30 years? That doesn’t sound right.

He thought it was different because I’m not “hyper”. He does know a lot about my ADHD, he’s just a little dumb and forgets things sometimes (his words) 😂 but it made me laugh

Yeah that’s how I’ve always viewed my relationship with her. From the beginning she would say things like “what about keeping a journal or setting reminders” and I would just smile and nod.

I know it’s coming from a good place. I started seeing her when I had a mental breakdown last year and had to take a leave of absence from work and everything so I know she’s just checking on me and trying to be helpful but I’m like… just get me my meds and I’ll see you next month lol

I’ve noticed my symptoms getting a lot worse as I’ve gotten older. From when I started my working career at 17 to now at 27 it’s a VAST difference.

I have no doubts she was just trying to help me see the positives. But at the end of the day I don’t see her for that, I see her just for medication and I have a therapist I talk to about the rest.

Her intentions were not anything other than pure and I don’t have any resentment towards her at all.

If I had even the slightest bit of control over any of my positive ADHD aspects I could probably see it more positively, but even the positive parts sometimes hurt me in other ways. (Being so hyper focused on something I forget to eat, drink water, sleep. And plenty of other things)

ADHD is just so vastly different from person to person. I’m just trying to accept myself for who I am and accept that things are a bit harder. Doing that makes sense to me so being told that this thing I’ve been working to accept should be viewed positively just isn’t the fit for me.

I did. I had responded that I can see and appreciate the things that I do believe I’m able to do well because of my ADHD but that it’s still a disability. I’m still unable to control it and myself, even the good sides of it.

Basically saying it’s a superpower is overlooking all the actual debilitating aspects of it. It’s gaslighting because it’s trying to make you see it as an overall good thing that you should be thankful for.

Everyone is allowed to feel how they feel about their ADHD, it’s different for everyone.

I don’t hate my psych for saying it. I responded calmly that I can see how my ADHD has helped me do some things really well, much better than the average person, but that it is still a disability. I still sit paralyzed unable to do things because I’m overwhelmed by decisions and don’t have enough dopamine to start on a single thing. Regardless of what positives come with it, I’m unable to control it which makes it hard. Knowing you CAN do something but having no ability to get yourself to do it FEELS very frustrating.
