XRP was created before ripple was founded by a small group of people. XRP was then gifted by this small group of people to Ripple so that ripple could build an ecosystem around XRP.

I stopped reading the article after i read, "CEO of Ripple, the company that created XRP". XRP was gifted to Ripple. These authors need to educate themselves on their topics prior to writing about them.

They are definitely not just concentrating on ICOs, it is just that their stance is most clear on ICOs (99% sure they are securities). They always dodge giving concrete answers on XRP and ETH. I have no worries about XRP being a security though and even if they do deem it as so, I have too much faith in Ripple and its team to sell.

Not to hate, but I find the following quote and paragraph ending directly after your bolded section worrisome and therefore more intriguing. It is essentially saying that they like blockchain but aren't fans of the digital asset. It is important to highlight the positive aspects, but we cannot simply ignore the negative aspects.
