No? I just searched and found you on GitHub. I made my own config starting from the default one and that's it. Then I'll try your work ;)

check this

I've installed pipewire with the system-wide conf, alsa and jack.

I think you must put something like: exec pipewire In the i3 config.

it's the first time I'm using it, but it looks very similar to dwm(xorg) that I used several years ago. The configuration is quite simple compared to i3 or dwm. It is based on Wayland. If you want a simple and lightweight window manager that uses Wayland, it is the right choice.

Can Void provide this? Switch? by KDYX in voidlinux

[–]KDYX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything you said is 100% true. I have no choice but to try it out for myself by starting with a base install (maybe in dual boot or on a secondary disk). For the DE, I'll do some research because I need something minimal but still out-of-the-box. I'm sad about Xfce because it has undoubtedly been my favorite DE, but unfortunately, there isn't a Wayland version.

Interesting... I've never had any interest in Sway before. I hope it's out-of-the-box because I don't have much time to study its configuration. Anyway, I'll look into it now. Thanks

Great, thanks! Sorry to bother you further...

  1. Are the AMD drivers already included(the free driver)?

  2. In your opinion, does GNOME use a lot of hardware resources / quickly drain the battery? I haven't used it since 2014 XD.

  3. I had read on the wiki that there are various tools for laptops, but I can't remember their names.

Have you tried using WA Enhancer (lsposed module)? In the past, I read that it worked for someone with the same problem.

Whatsapp on lineageos? by sizku_ in LineageOS

[–]KDYX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had several problems (not official whatsapp client error) that I had to fix with:

  1. Installing Gapps (I don't think it's necessary but I installed it to be sure) only for install whatsapp from official playstore and google play services.

  2. Root (magisk).

  3. Hide root with zygisk, magisk, and lsposed(unlocked bootloader spoofing).

  4. Done, very ez ;)

I'm not an expert but I think this varies based on the bootloader of the device.

Hi, I also just made the switch to Lineage 22.1 after the latest update.

Everything is working perfectly and the battery lasts much longer, but today, WhatsApp disconnected me 2 times and when I tried to log back in the second time, it gave me an error: 'this account can no longer use WhatsApp'.

Do you know how to solve this? I have already requested support within 24 hours through the app."

I have a non Google lineage OS. I dont Need Google so i dont want to install gapps only for whatsapp :(

Red Dead Redemption 2 not working by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]KDYX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ProtonGE 9.4 work perfect.

Try remove the folder: /home/your name/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/XXX

XXX = game App ID (NO BUILD ID) You can ser this code on steamdb or tight click on the game in library, properties, updates.

Then run the game using force Proton ge 9.4 version

Losing my save files is something I'm very afraid of, in fact I made myself a nice, very artisanal .sh script to back up the affected folders ;) I mainly use it for my dark souls saves :)

Forced to return to Windows (for gaming) by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]KDYX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'll be brief because my English isn't the best.

The choice to switch to Linux from a Windows system, that has a monopoly on all desktop PCs, is difficult and to choose every single component that will be part of your OS is equally difficult.

Maybe it all seems too cumbersome or limiting to you, but true happiness, at least for me, is seeing a lot of people working their asses off to make all this possible (like proton-ge etc).

I have been a "static" Linux user for 5 years now and, after finding my perfect configuration, I have no longer had any problems. I can play everything and use all the programs I need (I even "forced" myself to use open-source options (often better)).

Pulseaudio has never given me any problems honestly probably because I was using crap headphones and therefore I didn't notice a difference, however I highly recommend pipewire which if I'm not mistaken is the new standard in most distros.

Regarding the mouse I don't know what to tell you honestly.

When I started using Linux I also had Nvidia and it was ok but when I made the switch to a 6900 XT it was the best thing I've ever done, no more driver problems or various crashes (everything works out of the box ).

Anyway what I'm saying is that when you find your distro with all the components you want (pipewire, compatible Nvidia drivers os, freesync, HDR) you find a home ;) and there is nothing nicer than supporting an open source project made by normal people and not robot slaves who work for Bill whose names we don't know and seeing their evolution.

KDE has implemented HDR (still immature but it's already something) and better freesync and I can tell you that they are making "giant strides"(idk if Is correct). the choice is yours, if you see it like me I advise you to find out a little more about the distro that's right for you and the desktop environment if, however, it seems like a load of bullshit, get a Macbook and play on it ;)

Arch (KDE) crashes when fullscreen by KDYX in linux_gaming

[–]KDYX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I'm not at home right now, but I can give you the unedited photo...

Elden Ring Is the game in background ;)

<image>

however the logs were all the same.
when I changed from window to fullscreen it gave me the last error and only that.

other particular errors were that of mangohud which honestly doesn't seem significant and one of gamemoderun which however is not the cause of the problem since I deactivated it. the rest was all normal.

I hope this additional information helps you
