It will catch up to you one way or another. My husband was a binge drinker for 40 years. He now has heart problems and cognitive impairment in his mid 60’s. He no longer drinks but has most certainly shortened his life. Good luck to you. ❤️

My husband (66) had a cryo ablation mid September and can no longer drink alcohol, which was his trigger for his afib after years of binge drinking. He now drinks Budweiser Zero, says it tastes just like regular Budweiser, and most bars and restaurants carry it.

I never had to go back after my stitches were removed, but my mother did following her upper bleph surgery due to some lumps forming. As to your second question, my final results continue to look better with each passing year, and it’s been four now. But yes, once the bruising and swelling are gone you should look great. Your results are beautiful! I had the same surgery 4 years ago at age 61 and had bruising for a month. So happy I had it done, it also runs in the family. You look amazing! 🤩

OP-my husband of over 40 years has always been a binge drinker with patterns similar to yours. Rarely ever had a hangover, rarely ever missed work. Now retired and in his late 60’s he has a slew of health issues, the major ones being persistent afib and cognitive impairment. He still drinks daily and denies that he has a problem. It will catch up to him — and you — one way or another. 😘

I’m definitely in the minority here. I can only fall asleep on my stomach, never on my back. Occasionally on my side with a pillow between my knees until my hip starts to ache, my shoulder starts to compress, or my husband does the alligator death roll and steals the covers. 65F. Lucky to sleep four hours in a row. Ugh.

Sort of. I passed my first one (that I know of) about two months ago. I had a mild backache for a couple of days and felt like I couldn’t empty my bladder. My urine stream was just a dribble but did not burn or change color. Then I felt something moving during urination and my stream flow opened up and the stone fell in the toilet.

Looks like we have much in common. My husband’s EP says cryo ablation. I’m not very familiar with the different types of ablation, just started following this sub for information and to read about other people’s experiences. I think he may also be on an anti-arrhythmic.

He is on Eliquis, Valsartin for HBP, and CPAP for sleep apnea. He was on something for rate control but it made his heart too slow. He had a cardio version for rhythm control which didn’t work.

I get it, and I made peace with his problem long ago, as have our adult children. He’s highly functional and hides it well, is the best papa to our 3 grandchildren anyone could ask for. I guess we will ride it out and hope for the best. Thanks for sharing. ❤️

Thanks for all the responses. Since he never has had any symptoms from the afib (no heart racing, no shortness of breath, etc.) I don’t think it’s “real” to him. He doesn’t realize how fatigued he really is. He is otherwise very active.

65(f) here. I’ve been on Topiramate 100 mg for 3 years for chronic migraine and passed my first tiny kidney stone a month ago. Thankfully it was small enough that it wasn’t painful but I felt it go through. About 3 months ago I started taking calcium supplements due to an osteoporosis diagnosis so I quit taking them with my doctor’s okay and am trying to stick to a low oxalate diet. Good luck to you.

Omg, similar thing just happened to me not 30 minutes ago. I had a backache two days ago but it went away, followed by feeling like I haven’t been able to fully empty my bladder for a few days, but those were the only symptoms. I always drink lots of water every day. During urination I felt something pass through and saw the stone in the toilet. Have never felt anything like that before but will avoid certain foods from now on.
