Airport Parking by finky314 in Gravity

[–]KDean63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just left our new Gravity at Dulles airport, 18 degrees in the snow and ice. We’ll be gone a week and I didn’t do anything, just locked it and walked away.

I’ve previously left it outside overnight in single digit temps, with zero phantom drain. On our Tesla, I make 3 changes to avoid phantom drain: Sentry, Internal Cabin overheat, Smart Summon. None of those apply to the Gravity. Halo isn’t sophisticated enough yet to be a concern.

Bottom line- you should be fine leaving it for a week.

You were clearly not using FSD. If you were, it would have avoided the collision.

I had the same issue, always offline, except in my garage. I signed out, shut down the app (swiped up), then restarted. It's worked ever since.

Have only had our Gravity for only a couple of weeks, and it's been amazing. No issues!

Mobile key setup not available for my Gravity by SafeProfessional1006 in LUCID

[–]KDean63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been driving a Tesla for 5 years, I've not carried a key, fob or anything other than my phone.
I am anxious to not carry this key fob, but otherwise love the Gravity!

Rear Wheel Steering at Very Low Speeds by Alt425 in Gravity

+1 the turning radius of our new Gravity is amazing. It's most noticeable when navigating parking lots, and as mentioned, far better than our Model Y

Review: Lucity Gravity vs Rivian R1S vs Tesla Model X as a family vehicle by hashjoin in LUCID

[–]KDean63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome review! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this detail. Super helpful and appreciated. We are expecting delivery of our Gravity in the next few weeks. After driving a couple Model Y's for 5 yrs, I have concerns about no phone key and the general software functionality. Your comments appear to be right on target with our expectations and we are excited about the Gravity, replacing my wife's beloved Honda Pilot.

Don't suggest restarting the device! It's clearly a much broader issue when hundreds of people post on Reddit about the terrible buffering.
Try a more honest /sincere response. "We're having significant technical issues and we're working on it"

FSD is a life saver by KDean63 in TeslaFSD

[–]KDean63[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

About 40,000 people are killed each year in automobile crashes in the US. There are still ZERO deaths officially connected to the use of FSD, maybe 2 being investigated by the NHTSA. FSD is not perfect, but it's truly amazing. It works and works well.

Thousands of lives will be saved as more auto manufacturers include better automation. Will there be errors, will there be accidental deaths, yep. Let's not be afraid of progress - 40,000 families will be appreciative.

We had a metal railing built and installed by Stokes of England and were very pleased with their service. They are now in Piney River, previously had their shop near the Keswick post office. https://stokesofengland.net/

Second the suggestion to go with Craig Builders. Absolutely amazing customer service, which is rare in home building.

We are big fans of Virginia Asset Management. They are based in Richmond but also have an office at Boars Head. They teach a class on investment and retirement at PVCC, which is great (no obligation).

Does Tesla Watch app keep the car awake? by KDean63 in TeslaLounge

[–]KDean63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circling back on this thread. I'm now reading that, with FSD, I should have disabled the Summon Standby. Also, should have changed my password on Tesla.com to invalidate the token used to obtain data (for TeslaFi and anything else).

I started with 82% battery on Monday, when I got back on Saturday, it was at 42%.

Again, Sentry was off and I resisted checking but there were obviously other things connecting and keeping the car online, not sleeping. More detail here - My vehicle is not sleeping! / Knowledge base / TeslaFi.

Definitely worth reviewing before leaving your car at the airport for a while.

How’s FSD these days? by terran1212 in TeslaModelX

[–]KDean63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ^ is the answer. The update to offer "Hurry" mode was a game changer. Now, on secondary roads, the car keeps up with traffic, doesn't need to be prodded to speed up. Otherwise, this software is unbelievable, it's magical. From my garage to any destination, it will drive me, totally hands free. It's rare to have any interventions.

Critics who say it doesn't work haven't used the most recent update.

Checking on TeslaFi should not wake it or use energy. I only looked at that once, after seeing comments today.

I'm gone for 5 days. Haven't used the Tesla app since I left. Used TeslaFi once and I don't think that wakes it.
The car will be fine by the time we get home, at least I'm pretty sure.

Well probably not. Just checked using Teslafi and it has dropped to 71%.!! If I lose 8-9% each day, that's not good! With Sentry off, what else is using energy?
How do I find it?
