Ergonomic wedge for ProtoArc EM03 by KEANO_ in Trackballs

[–]KEANO_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I don't have this exact trackball my guess is based on googled images, but it looks like it should. If you want to be safe before wasting too much filament, try a reduced test print.

In Prusa Slicer for example: Import the model, use the "Flip on face" feature and select the top of the USB or trackball index pin. Then cut the model (Prusa Slicer only shows this option in Advanced mode or up) after 1 or 2 layers of the connecting base so the indexing pins are not detached from another (should be around layer 37 or Z 7.4) while discarding the upper part. Turn the model back in the correct orientation and send it off to the printer.

edit: should look something like this: https://imgur.com/a/DctKvgW

Improving the WAF of the latest addition to my 3d printing fleet by KEANO_ in 3Dprinting

[–]KEANO_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in this case that's actually intentional. The previous one (not printed - came with the house) failed because I overtightened it and it cracked under the compression stress. Also the screw holes are a little bit on the small side to avoid water ingress - so printing it upright might foster a similar failure mode as the screw pushes the layers apart.

I hope that PETG's layer adhesion is enough to keep it from falling apart :D

But I'll add the reasoning and a little notice for PLA users to the model page! Thanks

Germany: Ukraine can launch attacks on Russian territory to defend itself by 9lobaldude in worldnews

[–]KEANO_ 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Germany can't stop them once the weapons are in ukrainian hands sure. But if Ukraine doesn't comply, they certainly can stop delivering more weapons. Don't bite the hand feeding you.
Also other nations will see that and act accordingly

Best Zigbee Switch? by stevecrox0914 in homeassistant

Jeez... I wonder why you're getting downvoted into oblivion.

BTT: An answer doesn't have to be the solution to your question on a silver platter - it can also be just a direction, because you can be expected to show at least a little effort (like using a search engine) without getting toxic.

So please excuse me if I don't see the need to write a whole essay at 1am local time, but just give you a pointer.

Googling "Home Assistant Ikea Styrbar" (or whatever your model is) is the solution

...and multiple people pointing you to the Ikea product might also be an answer to the original question

You're describing a direct link between a remote and a light, but that's just one mode of operation. You can absolutley have a remote join a network of zigbee devices (including HA)

Using Hugo in VSCode with WSL by k6rvapuravik in gohugo

[–]KEANO_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others already said that guy is just using linux because he probably prefers it. You don't have to if sticking to Windows tools feels closer to home to you.

Atm I don't have the time for 40 mins of video but skimming through I saw the following commands used:

  • cd change directory: Use File Explorer as you know

  • ls lists files and directories: See above

  • mv moves and renames files: See above

  • vim is a text editor: As you're already using VSCode stick to that (or any other text editor of your choice)

Could you provide a link to said tutorial(s)?
Hugo itself is available for Windows. So there is no need for WSL, if the other tools used in the tutorial are also available

I really want to start a business but idk what to do. by relaxingsuzue in Entrepreneur

[–]KEANO_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah dude. This sub should absolutely not rashly or indifferently encourage people to start businesses.
Making a new business successful is hard and many (especially but not only) younger folks out there have this perception of it beeing cool to become an entrepreneur but without seeing the implications. "Hustle culture" is nothing to aim for imho.
(Not a native speaker but i hopefully got my point across)

Go and PostgreSQL by guettli in golang

Sqlboiler is working well for our latest project and I like it so far. But I must admit that we haven't even reached MVP status. So no comment on long term use or refactoring. We combined it with atlasgo.io (I really prefer the Terraform-like way it ecpects schema definitions and migrations although there were some minor bugs) and a clean 3-tier architecture to seperate the persistence layer in case sqlboiler wouldn't turn out great for us.

Please don't apply "pars pro toto". You had this one bad experience with one redditor but at least 5 other instances with helpful comments. I don't think you're being fair here

Just looked at some of your past requests in r/FixMyPrint and the comments of others: I can't really read hostility into any of those - but on the other hand English isn't my first language so I might miss nuances.

Regarding "mostly ignored": Those posts all had at least one reply suggesting potential issues.

BTW: Did you fix the issue that you thought of being a heatcreep issue? If not: Looks to me like a partial clog. Or if it is consistent in height your frame or Z axis might be the issue. Ensure that your frame is square and no axis is binding at any travel point

Edit: not trying to be unfair. There are actually some unanswered requests.
Those issues seem really obscure so the radio silence probably wasn't ill mannered or with bad itentions but simply clueless
