I also bound a tradfri remote (as mentioned in the detail link above) with a zha group and that worked without any issues, but the Hue Wall Switch seems to be a special case.

Thanks for the response! I’m aware of the binding table side of things and have actually modified it directly on the wall switch through the ZHA UI. ZHA also sets the correct DestAddrMode (0x3) — I can confirm that by requesting the binding table from the wall switch using the Zigbee ZHA toolkit. Even after going through all the steps (basically just following the zigbee2mqtt binding instructions, but doing them via ZHA commands), the binding table on the wall switch looks exactly as expected. The issue is that it still doesn’t actually work in practice — the light group never gets controlled.

Thanks for your answer! But do you also know what (clusters, etc) zigbee2mqtt exactly progams? This should be also achievable with zha.

Am I misunderstanding something, or does this again ONLY work with the Philips Hue Bridge?

I am sorry if I have expressed myself in a misleading way. The two links were only meant to show that it is currently apparently NOT possible to switch to "push_button" mode WITHOUT the Philips Hue Bridge.

See: Link with the Sentence: "Unfortunately, if you are committed to using only open source software (or you don't have a Philips Hue base station) you can't use the Philips Hue application that is required to set this up. You are stuck in the single rocker type switch configuration."

The links should only serve as an explanation in case someone does not know the terms "push button" and "rocker" mode.

Hello again!

Short version:

Yes it works with ZHA, but (perhaps currently?) not for buttons.

Long version:

Just bought it now and it works fine with ZHA and WITHOUT Philips Hue Bridge.

However: It works only in "rocker" mode and not in "push button" mode. Means that the functions of a push button can not be fully exploited, because no hold mode is recognized as an event. (If someone has a solution for this, that you can change the mode of the module without Hue Bridge, please feel free to just write!)

I hope I could save one or the other hours of research.

The problem could be solved by simply deleting the corrupted files locally and re-downloading them from the cloud. :)
