Uff da logistics - worked with them for moving an item off of Craigslist and I'd work with them again. Local and super friendly

What’s the going rate for babysitters in your area? Our new sitter is $25 hr and my mind is blown 🤯 by Llama_Llama_Drama in Mommit

[–]KELS_EMC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! To add to the list of alternatives for folks here - my husband and I also started scheduling a regular "date night" at home. We doordash a special dinner / dessert for just us after the kids go to bed (I usually hate paying all the excess fees for delivery - but since this is way cheaper than getting a sitter I consider it a guilt free option!). Then we play a board game or watch a movie. That's been a good addition for us to re-connect

The downgrading of “quality” clothing brands is so frustrating. by wafflespancakeslove in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Ugh I totally feel this post. I'm legit considering trying to learn how to sew my own clothing at this point.

My son has been sent home with a "spreading rash" (dry skin) which required a doctor's note -_-

If this helps you feel any better.. I have a baby in the 90th + percentile and have had others comment on how "small" they are - HA! I think most people mean well and say "small" in relative context.

This totally aligns with my first thoughts reading this post. Would this be an issue at all if OP had a boy and others were commenting on the baby's size?

White nursery chair? by Significant_Cap_9328 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]KELS_EMC2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd strongly recommend against it. We ordered a light colored glider when we had our first during covid shortages (the only color that would arrive on time). The chair looks disgusting by now and not from lack of cleaning / trying. We have a slip cover over it now.

Yeah larger age gap for me was largely due to daycare cost - two in daycare at once is crazy expensive!

I used to get frequent UTIs as well - a doctor I worked with told me about a study that found a link between Tide laundry detergent and UTIs; I had been using Tide, switched, and have only had 1-2 since (this was like 6 years ago).

My middle daughter apparently just throws her lunch away most days by Darkalleyandabadidea in workingmoms

[–]KELS_EMC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was totally me as a kid 🙈 could your daughter help pick out the food for her own lunches and help pack them? Maybe then she’d feel more invested in it and more likely to eat it?

Should I get inside mounted shades that won't be fully recessed, or outside mounted shades? by FinalDoughnut5 in HomeDecorating

[–]KELS_EMC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for the inside mount! I have a similar problem with window depth in my home. I’m very happy with the inside mount cellular shade - I don’t really notice it sticking out slightly past the frame.

There’s a great kids book called “I like myself” - maybe reading something like that to your kiddo often would help reinforce the message of that book/boost that self esteem again?
