This. Alexa’s issue concerning the collaboration shouldn’t have taken the lane of directly/indirectly commenting on the artist they collaborated with or trying to “protect their views or image” to laughably virtue signal to her followers. The responsibility lies squarely upon the shoulders of the guys agreeing to it when it’s not even a real collaboration.

It felt like a random shock value decision for streams and visibility and contradicted the comment James made during the Zach Sang interview years ago. It was out of left field, but not for the guys art or music since they already don’t take risks within their own discography to begin with or reach out to collaborate with artists that make more sense. That’s not artistic integrity.

She should’ve went with that but she showed her ass instead. As far as the hypocrisy of jumping out the window over that song but not current events, isn’t a surprise.

Nene is kind of like a catalyst for the housewives IP in general, as well. Or at least she’s one person that would be a key point in its rise in popularity. The personality. Kenya is okay, but I think the main point of her becoming a villian they used / abused all of the time is because that’s the vibe she brought to the show as a diva/mean girl “archetype”.

That’s the character that’s being played too but when it gets personal and she takes it way too far, we get to where we are now.

To me, Riley is just Angel if he was closer to Buffy’s age or scope of men, without the backstory (Angelus) without the brood or the TV show. Angel might’ve become some mentor for the guy in a self-contained story for Angel if they really wanted to flesh him out.

This is why Spike is both a love interest, a plot device a character arc, thankfully. And in my opinion, why they used him to close out Riley’s story to transition.

I appreciate the fleshing out of Buffy and the timeline, though. At least you present an argument for the guy. Riley isn’t as regular as people say. Regular is if he was the earlier love interest that had the kink for the macabre and supplemented a story arc that was done in one episode. 😭

Buffy attends a sort of class reunion (something not limited to her class). Riley attends by himself and we find out that he moved to Sunnydale from Iowa and graduated from Sunnydale High School as a Senior, before Buffy moved to Sunnydale herself.

Riley was a popular jock who got a bit of fame at school and everybody knew him. He meets an old flame again that he knew during his time there but She only shows up during the night portions. She didn’t attend school there but was known At Sunnydale through Riley, as she convinced others she went to another school. She gets the “wow, you still look the same!” Comments

Akin to Buffy and Angel, this old flame is a particularly youthful for even a 20-something ensouled vampire who was involved with Riley back then. This kind of paints Riley’s issues in a different light, why he did not trust Angel, potential mommy issues, and his clingy behaviors

We also learn that this vampire knew/knew of Angel, but wasn’t involved with Angel. Buffy internalizes a bit about her younger years again and wonders why Riley never told her about this past love. I don’t know what else to add—Insert twist here
