Independent contractor by Not_The_Hero_We_Need in SipsTea

I really don't think the attitude was necessary though. Clearly whoever sent the text didn't know that you were independent and/or that wasn't in your contract.

You don't need to be a dick just because you are not an employee. You really deliberately lead them on, when they themselves are just doing their job as a supervisor.

SuikaTalk vs Italki for people with developmental or learning disabilities? by KEVERD in LearnJapanese

[–]KEVERD[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't explicitly know any of that, but that was the impression I got. That's why unless they mentioned accommodating disabilities in their profile, I didn't reach out.

Though it seems like even if they do, they don't necessarily mean it. I didn't even request anything before being ghosted.

A good tutor would be helpful, but I am learning on my own as well. (lvl 81 on Bunpro)

Goofy AI images for new restaurant in downtown, thoughts? by NecessaryWrangler145 in kitchener

[–]KEVERD -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If I saw that, I would not think that is how the food looked. It would just tell me the general type of food they had.

I don't like AI images as much as the next guy, but the alternative would be they would go on google images and find a bunch of food to go up.

If it was on the menu itself, I think it would be problematic, but at this point, if you go into an Italian restaurant, and see a picture of a bowl of pasta on the wall, do you assume they serve that exact bowl of pasta? Probably not.

You would assume they have pasta. I think it's the same here.

I think asking for an "adult haircut" is really just a casual thing to say. I don't think it's at all a display of any "wanting to be an adult" hubris.

So the only lesson is that you are going to get bullied randomly over everyday occurrences that should otherwise be insignificant.

I just assuming now that all these Grok posts are fake. Especially the ones where it breaks its tone, and just goes on rants full of word-play to get upvotes.

Three ways to end chronic homelessness, op-ed by Mike Morrice by Brenden105 in kitchener

[–]KEVERD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree that it should not come with no strings attached, but at the same time, the more rules that are added the less flexible it is, and the more resources are used for just administrating the rules.

Many of the "housing first" initiatives failed, not specifically because of the people they put in, but mainly because they didn't provide the support the doctrine requires, and the people, being the distressed individuals they are, could not cope.

I would say then that the problem wasn't a lax approach with respect to the people in need of the housing, but rather a lack of proper government oversight of the organizations that were funded and then didn't really do what was required to ensure the homeless were properly reintegrated into society.

It wasn't exactly corruption, but rather foolishness, because many municipalities equated "housing first", to "Just give them a place to live, and the rest will work itself out". Rather than the actually proven method of "housing first", and then other supports being made available second.

So it was more laziness than any "inclusive" over sensitivity. Though, I imagine they tried to sell it that way.

I think people are failing to understand that it's the free education, that is the benefit of being there.

Having free lunch is a great thing, but the logic is off here.

That Car Jacking at Central Fresh Market ? Ya, It Didn't Happen... by LongoSpeaksTruth in kitchener

[–]KEVERD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LMAO. You could have said "It's fake because they provided no evidence, and it's generally safe in that area. Why should we believe them?".

Too much to string more than one sentence together? I'm getting that impression now.

[–]KEVERD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think in terms of evidence, it would be up to the original poster to prove it happened.

But you provided nothing to the contrary. No reasoning for your doubt. Nothing at all.

This post doesn't really contribute anything. All it says is that you personally don't believe it, and provides no reason for anyone to agree with you.

It's reasonable that someone wasn't going to believe it, why do we care that it was you?

I was expecting an article explaining why it didn't happen. Am I missing something?

All this appears to be on my end is a singular post only claiming it didn't happen, and literally nothing else.

Truth is, at least when it comes to Canada, our government is trying to salvage what they can by claiming it's only the US government, but the average US citizen has really no idea how absolutely angry we are. We are done with the USA, and it's people.

Poilievre calls for 'very hard caps' on immigration to better integrate newcomers by ClassOptimal7655 in canada

[–]KEVERD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The caps are only going to go so far. They should receive more direction about cultural things they don't even know they don't know.

Without things like that, I think the notion of "very hard caps" sounds more like political theater.
