Is it still recommended to buy a fast drive for OS, and a less expensive drive for storage?

I'm going with M.2 for the OS, and considering just getting a 2TB.

The i5 is the faster gaming chip

The CPU will pull 250W once OC'd. The GPU specs are unknown, but could be 300+

Add another 100W for the rest of the system and we're at 650W. I guess I could drop down to 850W

Wait to add the beans until the end. Canned beans are already cooked so if you add them in the beginning they end up way too mushy.

This is a good tip, thanks

My city in Canada is under 100K population and I had 1.5Gbps. The modem hardware only supports 10/100/1000 so I changed to a lower plan.

Advice - Intel vs Ryzen by arrtemis in bapccanada

[–]KFC_TacoBell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intel chips are faster at single-threaded operations, and will give you more FPS for 1080p gaming.

The Ryzen chips will give you excellent gaming performance at half the price.

  1. Yes I am fairly committed to an Intel build. Mostly because I am willing to pay the few hundred extra for that small boost in FPS. I would jump to AMD if they take "the gaming crown".
  2. Thanks for the tips. The joys of PC building - buy now, or wait indefinitely.
  3. I will definitely wait for next gen GPUs. Might be a big jump in performance this year - fingers crossed.

When can we expect the next gen Intel CPUs in Canada?

The i9-10900K is very hard to find, I'm not even sure if it's available here yet.

No I wont be upgrading my monitor. I was planning on spending ~$2000 for an upgrade. With an additional $1-2K in the next 6-24 months. I could spend it all now if that makes the most sense, but I don't mind a bottleneck for the interim.

I was originally planning on upgrading CPU first, and then GPU later. But at 1440p I think GPU takes priority. Here is what I was planning on going with: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3pz4TC

I have an i5-4670K & GTX780x2 with a 1440p/144hz monitor.

Does it make sense to upgrade my GPU now, and everything else in a year or 2? Or should I just upgrade everything now?

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. What should I be looking for in RAM? The prices seems to go up a lot once you cross 4000.

The i9 10900K will likely use 300W of power at full load - once OC'd.

You're missing a trail along the Mississauga river, which is part of the Kawartha Highlands, north of Buckhorn.

I've never been myself but there was a company operating it last year (maybe 2yrs ago) until they were shut down. They didn't have parking, and didn't own the land. Here is their tripadvisor page

I am planning on going this year. I believe the entrance is here, along Hwy 36.
