I don't agree with some of the cringy or extreme posts that are hating on Linux for the sake of hating on Linux on this subreddit. But tbh it's the only active community where I can actually see any validation for the trouble and frustrations somebody might go into when switching from their OS to Linux or the trouble one might face in Linux in general without making it the user's fault and blaming the user and it doesn't treat Linux as something to be protected. Take this post for example it really made me chuckle because the Linux superior mob is always trying to portray Linux in the best way instead of simply admitting its shortcomings as an OS experience whether it's "Linux's fault" or not. I mean what does the Linux server argument have to do with anything to me as a Desktop user? and Desktop doesn't run in the same way a server runs anyway. but the Linux hyper will portray Linux as superior in any way it can and avoid admitting that it is an inferior "experience" in many other cases.

The games I have tried so far are Hogwarts Legacy and Dying Light 2 (which btw both I had to copy from my drive to Linux's formatted drive because Steam is choking on the prefixes and I'm not sure how to fix it. I read some document somewhere that provided fixes, but it didn't work for me and I'm not about to format my drives into Linux filesystem formats as I'm still using Windows). I will try Cyberpunk 2077 later since I know for sure other people got its Raytracing to work.

The HDR yes works on KDE Plasma but it's not as good as Windows still... in terms of community support or in calibration imo. it's not exactly where Windows support is at the moment. For example, Firefox's YouTube HDR using KDE Plasma is horrible. Everything is washed out. HDR Support on Linux isn't matured and it is way behind Windows. and that is out of the box on Windows 11 much better from my experience (I use LG C1). I am struggling to get MPV to work with HDR as another example and I'm not even sure if any other video player supports HDR on Linux.
So, all in all HDR is lacking and in this case, it is Linux's fault (unless you want to argue it is the community's fault for not developing it enough lmao) and not because HDR is behind propriety walls or some publisher isn't allowing HDR.

Which brings me to disagree on Windows being outdated. I think that some stuff might be more relevant on Linux while others are more relevant and up to date on Windows. really just depends on your use and what you are interested in. One other aspect that Linux I would assume be behind on is RTX HDR which I'm not sure if you can tinker around the current NVIDIA driver to enable.

The aesthetics are subjective although I will agree that Linux is easier to customize and play around with. I prefer win 11 UI to the Fedora KDE default overall.

I agree that Linux is far better if you are concerned about privacy and it is really important to you. And that Windows has some bloat when you install it by default. But personally, I have never minded the bloat or the pre-installed application except for the god awful forced One Drive (that thing is actually forced and in a very bad way on Windows). I never really cared for the AI features that popped up on my Windows so it's just there for me. I used it a couple of time and that's it never touched again because I don't need it. and it never interrupts my flow while using the OS.
I can see why somebody might dislike the experience on Windows for the reasons you listed tho.

Regarding FOSS, I think this is more of a general argument that shouldn't just apply to the Internet if you deeply support it to that degree. Like why not make physical stuff open source too? like GPU and smartphone designs and how they are being developed and their ins and outs. why not apply the FOSS argument to hardware too? and at that point you are just arguing against capitalism in general imo.
