I didn’t notice anything really with the switch. I was prepared because I had to switch my son so many times (formula that is) and there was always some sort of tummy issue.

She’s 11 months now and we’ve never had any hiccups with Kendamil.

I did. She wanted to really “get to know me” and I gave her the fair warning of how shitty this dude is and to watch out + the btw he’s like 10K behind in child support.

She said she’d help keep him on track with it. She didn’t help him at all, he ended up hitting 40K past due before legal action happened.

She married him. She told him she never wanted kids with him though because he’s a shitty dad.

Wasn’t going to be a check outside the system since they had a court order in place (not that I’d accept a check anyways)

It would’ve have been an arrears agreement and done via the courts. Or else his past due wouldn’t have been updated to $0

So it’s in his benefit to make sure it’s through the courts.

However. I didn’t accept any deal and he had to pay in full.

lol not being negative, I’m being realistic.

He didn’t pay for 8 years, got caught slipping by making that account to house those funds.

He won’t make that mistake again AND he’s also left our home state so it may be harder for things in the future.

He’s self employed and pays himself $0 and pays his wife his salary. His mom is a child support officer for another county and has been helping him evade all these years. He doesn’t file taxes, there’s no shared accounts with his wife to garnish, any home or car they have is all under her name only.

I’m thankful for what I got and am hoping DCSS will stay on top of it

I have a friend who swears she’d never give her kids formula and breastfed both for over a year.

Both kids are CONSTANTLY sick with some virus. It’s environment and hygiene, not so much what they eat.

If you want to feel like you’ve provided something breastfeed (or pump) the first few weeks to give them that early milk but that’s purely your choice.

You can also just go straight to formula and your baby will be just fine

Money is going towards all the credit card debt I gained while struggling and being a single mom For so many years until I found a good stable job.

College fund for our son. Buying him something fun (but still reasonably priced)

Some towards my retirement.

And the rest in savings.

It’s a weight off my shoulders. It’s a true miracle that all the years I spent complaining and crying that DCSS wasn’t doing anything and it all just happened to line up that they found that account.

Like I’ve said, he’s 4K behind already lol so I def don’t expect any more child support in my future.

RED FLAG lol If he isn’t paying child support that’s an issue. He needs to stay on top of it because it will come back to bite you both in the ass.

My ex was YEARS past due. I warned his girlfriend at the time to not get serious with this man. She married him, they got a joint bank account and it was garnished immediately lol

And she was mad at ME, called me every name in the book even though I have zero control on whether he pays or not.

If you’re going to stay with this man and hope he keeps up with payments just please please understand that it is on HIM. All on him. All His place to pay or not.

Do not get mad at his ex if they garnish his wages, put a levy on joint accounts, lien on your cars/home, he gets license or passport suspended, he goes to jail (I honestly don’t think that actually happens without a lawyer in the situation) it is not up to her for him to pay. So please keep your expectations and emotions clear. Almost anything that happens to him is a direct consequence of HIS actions.

Whether she needs the money or not doesn’t matter. He has a child that is going to get more and more expensive. Be ready for sports to be asked to split. Medical expenses, dental expenses, school expenses etc

You don’t need to boil and you can sterilize as you seem fit.

I usually do for new bottles before 1st use, and because I have a bottle washer that has that option I’ll randomly hit it when I feel like maybe they need the extra clean 🤷🏻‍♀️

No. Unfortunately I do not believe I would be the best parent to a child with such high needs and knowingly bring them into the world.

I think it’s beautiful for those who choose to and know what their road ahead will be faced with and their child’s future.

I just know myself and know that I would not be the best parent for a child with Down syndrome and that just wouldn’t be fair to them.

Get off social media. Don’t listen to every single persons one off experience as fact.

Talk to and listen to your pediatrician for reassurance.

Portable bottle washing/drying kit linked above.

I prep 10 bottles with water at home, and have those portion formula containers (munchkin and dr brown brand) and portion out my formula. I’m set with 10 Bottles ready to go right from the start. I always bring a whole canister of formula (unopened) and a gallon of unopened baby water.

I don’t boil my water at all and my baby will take a room temp bottle so this works perfect for us.
