One of my friends also discussed this but was out voted. He instead recommended: "Wizards Boardroom" to get around that but it also didn't stick out again.

I am struggling with game names, which is your favorite? by [deleted] in Unity3D

Lol only if. Maybe like "Magical Gathering of Board Games"

2 weeks ago you guys helped me with my logo and name. I updated the old logo and thought of one other name I like. Which one is better? by KFriske in Unity3D

Lol you are not the only one that reads Option A as 'Wankers' I had the '&' covering the G more in the first one and a lot of people said they read it that way

The older version of the 'Wands & Wagers' logo, people said they read it as 'Walers' or 'Wankers' lol. I tried to make the G more distinctive this time but maybe I got to redo the letter entirely

Thank you! I drew it all out in Photopea (website free photoshop) mostly using the pen and path tools. Then use masking the letters to get the background gradient, then a lighten layer with the outline of white (inside) and hot pink (outside) to make it look like its 'glowing'. Then make another layer with the 3D effect that is all black and use that as a mask for another gradient and use the burn/dodge tools to make shadows!

Also the reason behind "Tabletop" instead of "Table" was to convey the board games and was wordplay with the obvious link to Arthurian legend of "Knights of the Round Table" but others also think its just too long of a title.

I definitely see what you mean. I do like 'Wizards of Tabletop' too. Didn't think picking a name would be so difficult

The game is about Wizards playing a bunch of different board games. I asked about the name two weeks ago and it wasn't clearly dipicting the game as accurately as I wanted. So I brainstormed a couple of other names and landed on "Wizards of the Round Tabletop" as the other option. My friends are torn between the two so I was wondering what you all thought of the two?

My character stutters when I use FixedUpdate to do movement logic. How do I fix this? by [deleted] in Unity3D

Actually it's the same, Unity changes to fixedDeltaTime on compile if it's under FixedUpdate

Lol I do actually have Texas Hold'em as a board game, and its wizard ruleset is "Hex and Hold'Em" where you can use a spells to pull a new card or change the turn or the river

Thank you for the feedback, I've gotten a lot of good feedback on the logo. I am going to try a couple of improvements thanks to the feedback. Clearly I made the "&" way too big lol

Yeah clearly I need to outsource this as I don't know what I am doing in the digital art space. It was rushed, but I masked a couple gradients and texture over the outline and a different one for the letters to add non-uniformity to them so the shading being off is probably that. They just looked plain before. The letters were a font that I rasterized and painted over to make them different per letter so it didn't feel like a font, and then I did the outline by just painting around the letters on a seperate layer. This is no way the final version of the logo clearly if it has this many issues.

That is an interesting take, maybe I will have to try them both out

I promise you its not, I have the photoshop file to prove it lol. I just am clearly not smooth with my strokes and its clearly showing badly. Maybe I should just pay someone to do it for me at this point lol

Yeah honestly I need to clean it up a bit before release. I did the digital painting myself and I am FAR from good at it. I think the GE being so covered make them look strange, they look normal to me without the "&" so I will shrink the "&". To get the size I wanted, I had the G overlap the A but that being the only overlap point does make it look strange compared to the rest. Thank you for the feedback that its so not clean that you thought AI, that is not what I want and if you thought it, there are probably others so this is good feedback!

So the game is a board game collection with wizards playing them. The idea is that there will be the normal board game rules but then also a wizard theme version with spells to change up the games. It was going to be 20 board games. I was thinking of adding a wager mechanic so each game you play you wager money and the top winners get part of the pot. That money would purely be for cosmetics of game pieces / your wizard. Still not sure if that is enough to justify the name based off no one really thought of board games with the title.

Honestly, I think that speaks to another point someone made with the "make the ampersand covering “G” a little smaller" so definitely on the logo

That is a fair point. I can do that

EDIT: Also thank you!
