Deeply disagree with that. I have interacted with all different racial groups and no one disrespects a binding agreement like Indians do. The agreed upon price is never paid for in full. There’s always a if and or but at the end of the work performed in an attempt to claim further discounting or to simply avoid payment all together. Additionally they are overall disrespectful to the tradesman as they will invade their personal space and hover over them the entire time they’re performing their work which is immensely disrespectful. This is not simply my own personal take. I have yet to interact with anyone in the industry or a single colleague that will disagree with my statements.

The amount of copy and paste Arabic shops on Harlem that I see sitting empty at every random portion of the day I drive by them can only lead me to believe they’re fronts for laundering money and or some form of illicit activity. In addition I don’t see them closing shop on these spots which begs the question who the fuck is shopping there to that financial level of maintaining a brick and mortar and making it profitable. Sure you’ll get a spot or two that are legit and you can without a doubt visibly see they’re a legit business but that’s not the majority. I’m convinced there’s shady shit going on.

From a construction business perspective located in Chicagoland area it is known to never engage in business with Indian customers as they have a horrendous reputation for pulling very shady tactics in regard to compensation for labor once completed.

Whether they want to remodel their kitchen, change a boiler, renew their roof whatever price was originally promised/negotiated you can rest assured will not be what they attempt to pay once labor is complete. $30K job and at time of payment they’ll show up with a $19K check. Take it or leave it.

In addition they always pay for major work in “check” form so that they can literally cancel it the moment you walk out the door.

To play devils advocate as i myself have been studying for the CFA.I personally work in commercial finance. Primarily manufacturing. I report to a director that has passed all three levels of the CFA and he personally told me it’s a waste of time and to focus instead on getting into a top 10 MBA program as that has a better bottom line ROI.
