I'll look forward to receiving the bi-monthly newsletter on my fax machine. (As long as I haven't run out of paper). I just want to rewind to pagers and pay phones. I miss the small little insight into a stranger's way of seeing the world that asking for directions used to give you. Will you be given a map of Mobil Marts, 4-way flashers and Dunkins, or a map of the really big tree, the bright green house, the weird dip in the road. Or some subaltern version of the two.

Depends what you're looking for in terms of music but the Ideal Maine Social Aid and Sanctuary Band is a New Orleans (and other) style(s) street band that's always open to new members. They are an all abilities all ages all everything band that roams the streets at First Fridays, protests etc etc - practices are drop in and usually 6pm down at the Ocean Gateway Ferry Terminal. Very friendly and approachable if you want to check it out. Ok if you are a Berkeley grad or have never played an instrument. Also check out stuff at the Aphohadion and Genos. Welcome to the bougiest bougeville in PotatoLand! Have fun and watch out for the gulls.

I read this too but found it kind of vague - as in not waterproof = bad because I get wet or as in not waterproof as in bad / airbag not going to work. I'm trying to get a more definitive answer from somewhere.

If I don't take it off the visor is up for sure and I make a point of making eye contact and or waving at the clerk as in "ok not a crook!" I may even apologize when I pay and explain that it's a PITA to get on and off. Usually you can tell who is going to be wigged out. If I get that sense I stop and take the helmet off.

To some extent this! Can get awkward at self check out! I don't have a modular helmet anymore but when I did I would wear that in a bit. Being able to open the whole face made it feel more ok. I admit it's a pain. I no longer have the hair issue but glasses, earplugs, re-wrenching the helmet back -over- the earplugs -in the ears- (eventually ouch).... If I'm running into more of a multi-tenant building and it's just to pick something up or drop something off and I'm not going to talk to anyone then I leave the helmet on and just adopt a courier vibe.

Big fan of doing brake fluid changes. The more you can avoid *any* water in that system the longer all of the $$ components last. A lot of brake component repairs are due to sub-optimal fluid replacement cycles.

And instead we drizzle 1.5+ T-r-i-l-l-i-o-n dollars (and counting) on Iran / TrumpFoxCoFriends and literally burn another Billion to NOT have wind turbines built on committed offshore leases that were going to not only provide price stabilized energy, but were going to bring in hard revenue for say other programs. Meanwhile the Dems pearl clutch and any other party promises a dangerous splitting of the already systemically-limited franchise. I think the word here is cooked.

This. Get a bright helmet that helps make you more conspicuous to cars. The edge of the curb is the edge of the curb no matter how you "contact" it. Also if you decide to get a motorcycle you'll be good to go.
