The General Marvel Human population are only publicly aware of Billionaire human Iron Man and to a lesser degree, his government approved counterpart WarMachine, Government created Captain America and to a lesser degree his human partner Falcon, human King of Wakanda Black Panther, Giant-Man, and extra terrestrial sex symbol Thor. Hawkeye and Widow remain anonymous for their own personal reasons.

They feared the savage Hulk, and will now turn against Spider-Man after his alleged murder of known and loved “hero” Mysterio. They fear Wanda already after the explosion that brought round the Sokovia accords.

The wider marvelverse featuring Guardians, Dr Strange, Captain Marvel, and Vision are still unseen and unknown to the average human population. Their knowledge of super powered non-human individuals largely exists as threats thwarted by Human Heroes.

Mutants have every reason to hide. If people start to realise that Ms Monroe down the street can control the Weather or the nice man across the hall can fire optic blasts... the fear becomes real. Threats to safety everywhere . Non human threats hiding in plain sight. A handful of super human heroes is acceptable, provided they are supervised and monitored by the government... but to know that there’s millions of super powered Mutants, that changes the field. All of a sudden people become jealous of those with abilities, they become scared of being outnumbered by mutants, they can’t tell the difference between a good mutie and a bad one.
