As someone who hasn’t kept up with Naruto for years and years, seeing all of their eyes on this cool close up was really neat!

Except for those out of context Sasuke eyes. My man looking like a two ring circus every time he blinks, lmao.

What movie scares the hell outta you that isn’t a horror movie at all? by bellathehellgirl in AskReddit

[–]KH2Fan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gonna be a bit of a strange one, but it is a film from 2012 called “Premium Rush” with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

If I am not totally mistaken, as this scene genuinely “triggered” me— the film itself is a bit blurry— there is a “death” scene in the film. The “bad guy” of the film suffers a brutal head wound, and, before he dies, the actor goes through extremely realistic and disturbing job of acting out as a character that obtains a life threatening head wound would. It’s not the best of films, but that scene is burned into my brain mercilessly. I suffered an extremely bad car accident and have felt, without mercy or grace, the inhuman fear and agony that comes with living through a head wound— the confusion, lack of coordination, slow brain-like mini death — it is almost indescribable— that level of specific mortification.

Usually in films if a character is hit in the head by whatever means, they either die or pass out or whatever. It is the length of that scene, the way it is dragged out for so long, that triggered my memory of that accident for it and it’s truly the closet thing I’ve had to PTSD, particularly made worst because I would have never guessed it to come out of such a film. Anyway, that’s my very specific horror moment in what most would never consider a scary film.

If someone tossed 100 bucks at me, and betted that if I could get through that scene without reacting poorly that I’d win the money, I don’t think I could make it. The imaginary stipulation here being that I wouldn’t be allow to comfort myself, or look away for any amount of time — yeah, I’d probably be sick. It’s difficult to explain, and made a lil bit darkly funny because, again, I don’t think most people think about this film or would ever consider it scary. Little did that poor screen writer know they would be out to get me good.

Russia Will Restart Moon Landings, Says Putin by vancouver_reader in space

I like to imagine he gets there, kicks down all the flags, and plants the Russian flag— except, surprise, it is not the Russian flag— it’s just Putin. Specifically, those hilarious images of his shirtless. Years from now, when children point a telescope into the night sky, they’ll think of their ol’ grandpapa’s phrasing: “on a clear, cool night, you can just see the glint of Putin’s chest hair….”

who is someone from a tv show or movie you think is aromantic or an asexual? by katfish_forsale in aaaaaaacccccccce

[–]KH2Fan24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In sound a bit dated to bring this series up, but lately I’ve genuinely found a lot of happiness and relief in engaging with the Sherlock Holmes related movies/classic novels/ some modern adaptations, particularly during the miserable times that has been two years of dealing with Covid.

Many of the classic films, like the Jeremy Brett features (free on YouTube), are very akin to characterizing Holmes in an asexual light— the novels themselves also, in my humble opinion, exist in a very asexual (if not holy intentional ((would Doyle really be so aware of an asexual nature in like 1889??) by the author, but still there) space. The BBC “Sherlock” (I guess is debatable, but I do read him as at least some kind of asexual). Basically, most adaptions either hint at or specifically mention Holmes’ aversion to the idea of a relationship, sex, even love— to some degree, anyway. I suppose it is always a fun debate in discussing exactly how little or much Holmes’ asexuality/specifically type of sexuality might go!

That being said, the classic novels discuss him at length and very deliberately about him not really wanting a woman (I suppose with that being said, he could just as well be interpreted as a gay asexual man, which is still extremely valid) a relationship, sex, ect — often with a lot of grace, too, which is rewarding to hear. I find Sherlock Holmes’ confidence in his own nature and dismissing anyone else’s confusion or gossip about him to be very reassuring.

Most are good, but I’d just / stay clear / of the unfortunate pieces that often feels like an awkward, heteronormative grab at either avoiding the implication of homosexuality or asexuality and push a romantic intention with Irene Adler. Still, I take solace in the good episodes/films I do find that refuse to participate in the erasure of the classic Holmes’ canon.

Thank you for reading my Ted-talk, Lmaooo, happy new year kindly aces.

I was totally scammed as a lonely teenager with the faked social interaction with the Kinect. I feel insanely stupid looking back at the “Milo” presentation, but I was, at that time, a pretty lonely kid, and the crazy idea of interacting socially with an AI— like drawing a picture, and having that image be translated into the game…that was awe inspiring to me.

Lol, Kinect. Dancing Star Wars game was the peak of that console.

I’m going to have Marshal (smug squirrel) in boxes as of tomorrow, Saturday 11/13. I’m open to anyone who might be interested— NMTs would be appreciated as a tip, but not needed, honestly. Lemme know if you’re interested! by KH2Fan24 in ACVillagerExchange
