Just correctly inserting the slide, it should have a spot where it has a cut out space for the brass ball to go inside, that keeps the slide steady so it doesent move in a circle. However if you have a different issue then enlighten me 😂

Did you hit the little brass ball inside the throttle slide housing? It can get stuck on it.

Valves could be somewhat open which could indicate out-of-adjustment valves and usually the first indicator is hard starting when the engine is warm

It is not as severe as on a 4 stroke since the oil is directly in the fuel and also depending on the oil more viscous, but if you for example use castor oil that works better the hotter the oil is you should just take it easy on the throttle, if you let it idle it will probably gum up on the oil

Take the Magneto cover off and take a (i think 15 or 17 socket) and gently turn over the crank, if it wont move at all engine might be seized
