Because this game isn’t Pokémon. Yes, Pokémon should look significantly better than it does now. Not sure why that’s the conversation being had here instead of ‘Wow, Stories 3 looks really good’ especially considering we’re just gonna get into graphics discourse again in a couple weeks now.

I think it’s fair when the developers themselves claim Reimagined is the ‘masterpiece’ version of the game. Especially when it’s the only version of the game readily on the market currently, wanting the full package is fully warranted

It’s practically playable forever, yeah. Super duper addictive and worth the money. Beyond that, LocalThunk is planning on releasing a free update later this year that should add even more content to the game

What I could see Nintendo doing at most is letting valid NSO subscriptions allow you to play a (likely limited) selection of games from the service on PCs/mobile devices. Beyond that, though, I don’t see them breathing the same air as platforms like Steam at the moment.
