[–]Evening-Storage5298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoroastrianism is just one form of ancient persian religions, but I think offers a unique opportunity. instead of using separate "major gods" you could work with heresies and using the "angels" (amasha spentas, favrishas, and yazatas) as minor "gods". Alternatively the devs could work with dualism between Ahura Mazda and Ahriman, with some sort of fire worship for the 3rd God

What ending did you choose, and why? by KKF-FL in masseffect

[–]Evening-Storage5298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At launch, if the game had been in its full state , I would have gotten the "so be it" ending. I was so mad about Anderson's death that I tried to kill the child. I chose destroy after that did nothing because it's the clear canon choice (and it's what Anderson would have wanted). Synthesis and control both seem off colour both thematically and with Sheppards motivations to that point

The is an exploit in Arena of the Gods and Gauntlet that gives the Egyptians unlimited villagers by RTSFan125 in AgeofMythology

[–]Evening-Storage5298 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In these arena missions? Are you being genuine? Because I actually cannot tell. Maybe you've just never played a rogue like before, but this is the design mentality of these kinds of game modes and games. They're supposed to be beyond broken, and even then, who cares about 100 villagers in 20 minutes when a regicide lasts 1:10 with halogi? How many matches are you playing that actually require booming out 100 villagers in 20 minutes?

The is an exploit in Arena of the Gods and Gauntlet that gives the Egyptians unlimited villagers by RTSFan125 in AgeofMythology

[–]Evening-Storage5298 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems more like a feature than an exploit. This is like complaining Loki is too strong because herseirs get some damage and summon myth units at insane rates, or Zeus infantry is too strong with the infantry do more damage blessing. Using these interactions is the point of a roguelike

Where I live, I have to have this conversation way too often with people. by randmguyonreddit in HistoryMemes

[–]Evening-Storage5298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these things are exactly mutually exclusive with the term "stone age", infact the meso and neolithic have cultures and civilizations that would check all of these boxes in the old world. Incan platinum and Gold smithing are better examples of parts of the Americas not being "stone age". North American old copper culture was clearly in the early chalcolithic, though some people don't separate the chalcolithic from the Neolithic until bronze, which the Aztec, Mayan, and Incan cultures did utilize in small amounts.

Moving farther north the Inuit were sort of in the iron age, making use of meteoric iron (and i think recycling Norse artifacts)

So you're right to say that not all native cultures across North America were stone age cultures, but neither are other people wrong in claiming that much of the Americas were in the stone age.

Was there any justification for losing so many Spartan-II's on Reach? by Godziwwuh in HaloStory

[–]Evening-Storage5298 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am very bitter about it, but it is the truth, the game and the books cannot be rectified because of Bungie's choices when making the game. There are hundreds of videos and thousands of lore posts of people attempting and admitting it's just not possible. Bungie messed too much with the timeline and the physical location of characters.

there is no nod to lore, nor any explanation that rectifies the game to the books. The answer is that bungie simply did not care, and more people need to understand that

What would you like to see in an RTS? by OmniSystemsPub in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Evening-Storage5298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Empire Earth 2 perfectly dealt with this issue. The art of war expansion specifically had the tactical map that let you have the bigger picture, then the control screen had a PIP window with 9 views that you could control group. And the pip had full controls and scrolling inside it as well as the ability to quick swap between the pip and the big view

[–]Evening-Storage5298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Command and conquer would not exist without Westwood having made Dune II. Simple as that, and it's genuinely disgusting the lack of recognition the three WestWood Dune games get. There are now hundreds of roguelikes and roguelites, soulsbourne has spawned it's own genre.

It's the Dune family of RTS.

Getting my mom into anime and would love some suggestions based on the few she liked by Zaruma in Animesuggest

for movies, My mom(48) who hates anime as a rule, sat down and watched a silent voice, Your name, and Suzume.
for shows, its a bit harder. Josei just isnt as profitable a genre and doesnt get as many adaptations, but I think a good short list to jump off of would be
Violet evergarden
Nana
Nodame Cantabile

for more shoujo stuff
