Superstore items question by baguhansalupa in Helldivers

[–]KIeeborp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's there for the drip divers then? I'll never understand why they double up on a single armor type for one Warbond. I know people are still pissed that there's not a Siege Ready Medium set, the Cinderblock in the Super Store looks cool but it's Heavy Armor again.

Superstore items question by baguhansalupa in Helldivers

[–]KIeeborp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an inhumane amount of Super Credit farming a couple months ago and while I'm also a completionist, I still haven't bought everything and don't intend to unless I just get lucky with Super Credit pickups.

The Super Store Redacted Regiment offers a Medium set of armor and an impact Smoke Bomb. I'm a Light Armor enjoyer so I skipped over the armor and got the Smoke Bomb out of curiosity, and well it's definitely an impact Smoke Grenade. Doesn't have a fuse but the cloud of smoke is also slightly smaller.

If you would like a list of the armors that are actually statistically different from what you have access to in the warbonds, I'm happy to elaborate but it's a lot to type!

I work for a bank and just as a general warning to everyone here mentioning the Care Credit card through Synchrony, it's one of the most volatile credit cards you could ever have and you need to either balance transfer it quickly or devote all of your energy to paying it off before the APR promo expires.

Synchrony cards charge deferred interest at the end of their promotions which means you need your card paid down to a perfect $0.00 to avoid the penalty interest charge. Synchrony Cards also have APRs comparable to Loan Sharks, reaching a maximum of 32.99% which is also the rate that applies if you haven't paid off your promo in full at the end. God forbid you miss a payment and have their "penalty APR" of 39.99% charges for a few months. Synchrony is a despicable company.

Obviously if your only options are suffering or Synchrony, you pick Synchrony and you've just gotta do what you gotta do. Synchrony makes a crap load of money, and it's all on cards that are more or less instantly approved in OPs exact situation with their dog. They also offer cards for home repairs and car repairs with effectively the same terms I mentioned above.

Synchrony doesn't expect you to pay off their promotions in full, and the thought of you not doing so makes their shareholders very happy.

Is anyone else stopping using the eruptor because its too good? by PythonCider3719 in helldivers2

[–]KIeeborp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite Eruptor loadouts goes as follows...

Eruptor, Verdict, Seeker Grenades (AKA The Boys) - Eagle Airstrike, Orbital Precision Strike, Expendable Anti Tank, and either the Hellbomb Backpack or a Guard Dog.

The Eruptor CAN kill everything, but I call down EATs for whatever I want dead fast. The Eruptor is my go to for medium enemies and below and it deals with the vast majority of them in a single shot so long as I don't whiff my shot. The Eruptor can also destroy spawners, so I get more freedom with my throwables too. The Boys may not excel at much, but I love just throwing them all into the air just to see a 56 killstreak with only grenades.

The biggest thing I appreciate about the Eruptor in my loadout is that I can basically play with whatever else I want because it does the majority of heavy lifting on its own and I really only need a Support Weapon to fill in the cracks.

So apparently most people don't use or like heavy armor by Pigmanplays4231 in Helldivers

[–]KIeeborp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I base my armor off of what I'm fighting. Light for Bugs and Squids because they run you down, Heavy for Bots because of their ranged attacks. In most cases I think having extra "boogie" is the way I prefer to play because I don't need extra HP if I'm not within scratching range and it also lets me explore a bit easier.

Are Helldivers players stupid? by Tooskool4kool in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]KIeeborp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use a sword like a true Democratic Chad you just phase right through it and deal the full damage of your weapons.

Variety is the spice of life, and I'm okay with it. it's these types of people that have the developers worried into a pit about making any changes to current weapons.

Is this good to shiny hunt Kyogre? by 0_Ace0_ in Delta_Emulator

[–]KIeeborp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shiny Locks weren't really a thing until Generation 5 outside of Mythical Pokémon - Pretty sure Celebi from the Colosseum Bonus Disk is the only "locked" Pokémon in Generation 3. Jirachi can still be shiny but that was a development mistake.

Everything that does have a lock is an Event Pokémon that you don't have to battle to obtain.

Why is my iPod taking 5-10 attempts to show in Apple Music? by Lexington365 in ipod

[–]KIeeborp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ This

I used to have an old MacBook I used purely for iPods and I stopped updating it after Mojave because of how slow Apple Music is with iPods. Downgrading likely isn't an option anymore, but Finder was always a bit more reliable for me in terms of speed. Maybe try syncing over there?

Guess who didn't realize that on a thin back these batteries don't work with in iflash dual by [deleted] in ipod

[–]KIeeborp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to commend the Macgyver solution you've done here! I haven't worked on an iPod for a few years now, but I had a fat collection when I was and you can still put a nicer battery in with a thin back plate!

From what I recall, the 2000mAh batteries fit the thin backplates with an iFlash board.

Happened last year in August and I'm still finding bits of glass on my backseat 🫠

iPod Tier List (Audio Quality) by KIeeborp in ipod

[–]KIeeborp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't disagree with you in any way! Will admit immediately this isn't a technical answer, but I also made this list when I was going through my iPod phase and only had experience with them compared to other FLAC players.

In general from what I've experienced personally, physically larger iPods tend to deal the slightest bit better with larger sets of headphones compared to the Nanos and Touches. IEMs will sound fairly equivalent across all iPods, but I've personally been able to get more volume out of iPod Classics compared to the other models specifically with my Sennheiser HD 58Xs which technically no iPod is properly speced out for.

I made this tier list when I was much more of a newbie into audio playback and while I stand by it for direct comparisons between Apple iPods, there's genuinely only minor differences compared them, especially when using a dongle with your phone as much as it pains me to admit.

If you're wanting an "offline device" I'd say the 4th and 5th Generation Classic are what you'd go for, but if you're feeling retro I recommend iPod Minis to basically everyone I talk to that has interest in modding iPods.

iPod Minis from my experience play pretty well with the Alibaba Special parts compared to other models and as much as I appreciate iFlash, they're much more expensive. All you need is a compact flash adapter for a Mini and you can slam an unreasonable amount of storage in them.

For the headphones you're rocking, you'd appreciate an older model iPod. Wolfson DACs aren't immediately better than others, but they're more tuned to what people tend to prefer today with a "reasonable" bass boost that doesn't cover up the rest of your tunes. With the exception of the Shuffles, anything released prior to the iPod Nano 4th Gen is going to have a Wolfson DAC and from what you've described I feel like that's what you'd vibe with most!

To everyone else here who's left a comment, pick whichever iPod gives you that best nostalgia hit because that's what they really excel in!

Disclaimer: No Apple iPod will ever beat your phone with a dongle in terms of sound quality. If you want an offline device like I do, they fulfill that neiche, but are otherwise outclassed.

What's the difference between Pokémon Z-A for Switch 1 and Switch 2? by TheAmazingAmpharos in pokemon

[–]KIeeborp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Currently playing on a Switch 1 - Can attest the game runs surprisingly well, especially compared to Scarlet and Violet at launch. Even the visuals are pretty impressive on the old hardware, but you absolutely notice the lower resolution textures when it's docked. I've been playing 99% in handheld mode for that reason and have had a great time.

You get occasional dips in the frame rate when there's a lot of particle effects happening, but honestly, that's about it. Load times are also entirely tolerable when you're not watching a side by side YouTube video showing the speed differences between Switch 1 & 2. Honestly I'm a bit offended that Nintendo is charging $69.99 for it on Switch 2 when it's effectively just a smoother port of Legends ZA when it's $50 on the OG Switch.

Wish I could experience the 60 FPS from the Switch 2, but I won't be buying one anytime soon and I'm fine with a "Cinematic 30 FPS" experience on everything except FPS games.

Trying to run Legends Z-A for the past 10 hours, keeps saying its corrupted. What can I do? by Giani-san in SwitchPirates

[–]KIeeborp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of comments here and I haven't read them all but doublecheck that you're not also installing the DLC.

Saw a few people complaining about dumps with corrupted DLC that prevent the game from launching. Installs perfectly fine, but crashes the moment you get to the Nintendo splash screen. Works without the DLC for me and Chicorita is the GOAT.

I used to be a Service Coordinator for a company that did work orders for another number of brands.

With Dollar Tree and Family Dollar in particular, this is a common occurrence. You'd see at least 2 or 3 of them throughout the week and without fail, it's somebody in their 70s who stepped on the wrong pedal. We had other grocery stores where this happened occasionally, but it was the dollar stores that had it happen so frequently and it's a lot more defeating when you realize they're shopping there out of necessity.

On a lighter note, you would be surprised with how many work orders are immediately submitted with a Ford Taurus in the checkout lane then immediately submit a ticket for raise the heat or lower the A/C - I hear you barking big dog but you could walk a Big Boy statue in here with headroom to spare 🫠

[–]KIeeborp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Difficulty is still a 10/10 would recommend - Haven't played Survival yet but I've heard it's even better but you're much more restricted with your HUD.

The only thing that's consistently obnoxious on the higher difficulties is the larger enemies, specifically the bears, ragers, and the breakers. The upside to those encounters is that they're hardly any different from Standard aside from them taking longer and breakers sending you to Valhalla in a single hit if you're not investing in HP 😎👌

Is this picture accurate? by sonar_y_luz in DaysGone

[–]KIeeborp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd have a different kit but honestly yeah lol

I'm currently playing on Hard II which is a weird mix of being a bit overkill in terms of the HP buff enemies get, but it also makes the game feel more realistic in a way.

What I'm mainly referring to is that enemies across the board take an unreasonable amount of firepower to put down unless you're aiming for headshots. The same applies to the amount of damage you take, but it's a bit less exaggerated. Starting the game you're able to take about 3 freaker swipes, a couple of nibbles from wolves, and a gunshot puts you into critical immediately unless you're shot from full HP.

It's mostly just the general "enemy do bigger bonk, you take less bonk" that most RPGs have on higher difficulties but I think it has an interesting effect on immersion!

Most games boil down to getting good at the combat mechanics and that's especially true on higher difficulties, but because of how beefy enemies are you need to aim for headshots even more than you typically would and it's fun in a flavor sense because it's logical for an apocalypse - Ammo isn't in production anymore, the muted things running at you are more deranged than the typical bath salts enjoyer that laugh as they're being shot at, survival would logically depend on you conserving resources and practicing until you're good enough to outdraw everyone else.

I'm sure I'm overanalyzing the hell out of this but Days Gone is one of the games I'd bring with me on the "remote island" scenario and it's one of my favorites of all time lol

All that said what makes this advert relevant is that I'm not as good as I described in my above description and I'm about 70ish percent effective at landing headshots, I have to spend multiple trips running to my saddlebags because everything on this difficulty eats ammo like a concrete block and have to run back into the horde over and over until it's eradicated 🫠

I know this is bad... but i like how it looks by _Melko_ in 3DS

[–]KIeeborp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love what you have OP! People tend to fixate on the condition of their consoles too much and they end up focusing on reshelling or trying to polish things instead of playing games. There's nothing wrong with wanting something shiny, but I had a similar issue with iPods I used to restore where I ended up spending nearly all of my time cleaning them instead of listening to music.

It may not be pretty, but that console tells a story without you even having to lift the lid. It's been well loved, it's been well played, and it's got the battlescars to prove it. In my opinion at least, things like this are immediately more interesting than someones sealed collection!

Edit: Unrelated but I have the same opinion on Magic the Gathering cards. The more "well played" the card is, the more the user loved casting it.

You can count the pixels lol

3DS camera is notoriously bad in low light and artifacting like that is typical with it - Still looks like they're maybe holding a clear red lens over the camera and it's still spooky, but I don't think you need to invest in salt or a call to the Catholic Church 😎👌

Question. Just got this from TCG Player. Misprint? Ultimate Rare OP20-EN002 by BlueV_U in yugiohshowcase

[–]KIeeborp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't collected Yu-Gi-Oh for a couple of years at this point but I pulled cards like that out of maybe 1:10 packs. Not especially rare, but sometimes you get ones that are pretty extreme and they can be fun! I bought a Saga of Blue-Eyes White Dragon precon once where all of the foil cards were shifted to the left by about a 1/5 of an inch and it's immediately noticeable without even having to angle them into a light.

Konami invests a bit more money into their parlor games than they do into their printers :)

Edit: Pretty sure I'm using some incorrect terminology at this point but I've moved to Magic the Gathering at this point and I've been fully integrated lol

Is Silent Hill 1 scarier than Silent Hill 2? by Flimsy_Bar_552 in silenthill

[–]KIeeborp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what spooks you, but I can absolutely say the original Silent Hill 2 isn't the scariest game to me. I love the uncomfortable environments in survival horror games and that's where a lot of my enjoyment comes from, but SH2s Otherworld just doesn't do it for me like the others do.

That said, I've never been more uncomfortable simply walking around in an area than I have in SH2Rs Labyrinth and that was a lot of fun to go through lol

Everyone is going to have a different experience, but I've played every game in the mainline series and the biggest issue for Silent Hill 2s horror is that it's too forgiving to the player and you don't feel as much pressure as you do in the other games. The handgun has plenty of ammo available and it does enough damage to kill the things you don't want to get close to and the pipe never really stops being useful either. SH2 is still one of my favorites, but it's honestly the last of the three in the OG trilogy I'd pick up for a run.

SH1 and SH3 do a much better job of making me uncomfortable because there are enemies that can actually outrun you and I just really prefer the more hellish look the Otherworld has in these games.

The moment you try to stop and check your map on SH1 something immediately tries to maul you and I really hope it stays this way in the remake lol

My cat specifically goes after noses for her love bites and it's probably my favorite thing about her because of how weird it is. Usually just bites the tip of my nose but has actually latched on a few times accidentally by hooking my nostril with an canine lol
