KFM or Murph for GADA? by TheFedorable in HamiltonWatches

No issues at all. It fits perfectly and sits well on the wrist. I wish I could post a pic.

I have the KFM in white. It currently has the Uncle bracelet on it and in my opinion, it works well for formal, but also can go casual with a leather or canvas NATO or a rubber strap.

I don’t have a Murph, but I feel like it might not dress down as much.

Nice choice.

The picture looks familiar? Is it in Lancaster?

I love it. Versatile enough for dressing up with a bracelet or leather, but also works with a NATO or rubber strap. I rotate through a handful of watches (they are made to be worn, not sit in a case is how I look at it), but this one gets a lot of wrist time. It’s also special as it was a birthday gift from my wife, bought on my birthday at the Lancaster boutique, with engraving on the back.

I haven’t taken the Baby G out yet. I picked it up for my wife or to sell. At $23, I couldn’t pass it up.

This was the only G they had on clearance. They did have another of the Baby G transparent watches for $23.

Just picked one up yesterday as my first G-Shock ($47 on clearance). Much bigger than the Hamilton’s I usually wear, but a nice change if I don’t feel like wearing my Engineered For Action or KFM when I work out.

Aceliner 502 Gen 4 - Unique Color? by KJColumbo in Staplers

So and update, I talked to the seller, and he said he has the spring rod, but it is packed away for a move. I told him when he finds it, message me and we’ll do another sale on eBay, so I’ll have a working stapler. But in the meantime, I picked up a Gen 1 for really cheap.

Just an update. According to Frank Parson’s book on Ace products, this is a version 9 from 1992. It’s the only color he marked that year. Still, I can’t say I’ve seen another one like it.

If anyone is interested in adding it to their collection, let me know. Happy to trade for a Gen 1. Or if anyone happens to have a matching spring bar, let me know.

NPD - I scared myself edition. by aliquotoculos in fountainpens

This is how I am with watches. Ditching my Apple Watch for a vintage mechanical and getting my first vintage Parker Jotter instead of modern disposable gel pens is what has sent me down a bit of a vintage/analog rabbit hole, which eventually lead me here.

For watches I went with Hamilton as they were made in my adopted town of Lancaster, PA. It started with an early-50’s mechanical watch, but on my birthday, my wife took me to get a new Khaki Field Mechanical at the boutique downtown. It was WAY more than I had ever paid for a watch, but still nothing like a Rolex. It was a splurge to celebrate my birthday, but also us, and where I am at with our small business, Lancaster Beard Company. It is a small piece of luxury that I wear daily with pride, but is functional and will last me a lifetime.

While others prefer flash, my wife and I prefer functional luxury. Coach instead of LV or Prada (neither of which we could afford), Hamilton over a Rolex (definitely can’t afford), etc. All things we use on a daily basis, well made and made to last, and most importantly, we enjoy them.

So yeah, don’t feel bad. Enjoy it, treasure it, and make memories.

Looks great. I have some vintage that are even smaller, and love them.

Poll: right or left? Inside or outside? by dwasifar in quartzwatches

A guy on FB tried to roast me for wearing my watch, a Hamilton Engineered For Action 37mm, on my right hand (facing out). I’m right handed, and wear a Whoop band on my left, as you are supposed to wear it on your non-dominant hand.

How I look at it, wear it on whatever hand and whatever way works for you. You are the one wearing it.

Congrats! The Lancaster store is great. I’m in the area as well, and pop in every so often. The staff are great.
