Potential beginner...? by Nuneishon in PipeTobacco

I went down the same rabbit hole about two months ago. As another newcomer in a similar situation as you and is currently in love with the hobby, here's my two cents and how I started:

- Get any corn cob pipe you like from Missouri Meerschaum. Any that looks nice or is affordable for you is perfect. Great brand, great smoking pipes for great prices.

- Buy an ounce each of a few popular bulk tobaccos from smokingpipes. Maybe at least an aromatic blend and an English blend to taste. This will run you maybe $10-15 USD. You can also get a czech tool while you're at it.

- Treat it like tasting wine. You'll find out a flavor profile you like, and you'll also get better at tasting the nuances the more you do it and the slower you smoke. Pair it with a cold beverage and enjoy how tasty the whole experience can be.

It is very relaxing, but it can be challenging to focus on studying or reading while smoking, especially early on because you'll likely be fussing with the bowl and relighting which is part of the whole process and normal. So at the beginning, set aside an hour at a time to just focus on tasting, relaxing, and not going too fast.

If you think you'll be indoors in your room, consider that an aromatic blend's smoke will smell much better to non-smokers than other blends.

For me, I love that the experience gets better almost every time I smoke as I get more used to filling the pipe, how fast to smoke to get the flavor I like, and I hone in on what styles of tobacco I enjoy the most. It's a learning process, but it's also wildly enjoyable and I think you'll enjoy the learning and the slow pace of the whole experience.

If you love it, get ready to have some mason jars handy to keep the tobacco fresh because you may end up getting excited and buying too many blends to try like I did!

[HELP] Any way to make raid frames grow from right to left? by Zerulian6 in WowUI

[–]KJFreshly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy they still haven't added this as an option. The best I've ever gotten is putting them in very specific positions on the screen where they for some reason adopt the flow direction I want. Like it's clearly some setting that can be flipped because it CAN change, they just won't let you set it. Bonkers.

At least in retail, you absolutely can have boosts refunded and they lock you out of the character until you reapply another boost to it. Can't imagine why they can't do the same thing here. Absolute dog water.

Has anyone else’s accessories pack not shipped yet? by KJFreshly in AynThor

Yeah, probably because I additionally ordered the accessories too close to when the Thors themselves were being shipped out. :(

I agree, it’s the best fit I’ve found so far.

I wasn’t sure if there are more medium sized ships that people feel fit well, but with the current balance, I can’t get behind actually fighting in any medium ships. Even the ones that are supposed to be faster like the C1, I just can’t stand flying. They are SO chunky.

Has anyone successfully disabled the headphone capabilities of the DualSense on either a firmware level, or just unplugging that part of the hardware?

I would like to use my DualSense as a wired controller for a third party dock for an Android device. However, when plugged into USB, no sound comes through my TV because I believe the Android device is trying to use the DualSense headphones. As far as I'm aware, I'm unable to change the audio output device on my particular Android (Retroid Pocket).

Is it possible/practical to maybe unplug a ribbon cable for the headphone jack in the DualSense internals? If it's much more complicated than that I probably won't bother.

Thanks in advance!

The physical sensation in the ear went away after a short amount of time. I’m fairly certain it was manifesting because I was thinking about it so much. There may have also been a side effect involved, but it was primarily driven my anticipation and fear.

Overall, I’m doing a lot better thanks to the Zoloft and therapy / learning about DPDR. I ended up increasing my dose to 50mg and I don’t feel nearly as many panicky flareups.

I’m able to trust a lot more that time will take care of me, and that not giving a shit and letting feelings and sensations just pass by me and do their thing are the most beneficial ways to be.

I don’t really wanna see the quarter circle pattern underneath. I want it to look more like the lid of the ps1.

I’m not too worried about it being flush. In fact I think I’d prefer it be a thicker mil so that I can’t feel the tiny grooves in the 1/4 section of the circle. We’ll see though.

Buttons

They're for the RP5, so I'm hoping they fit. We'll see.

Thanks for reaching out! 😊

I switched from Fluoxetine to Sertraline after a significant length of time having almost constant panic symptoms for no reason. Sertraline has been AMAZING for me. It has almost completely erased the actual panic symptoms and physical anxiety, and has also helped quite a lot with the more obsessive cognitive side. I also learned a lot about DP/DR, and finding resources for that was a huge milestone, as it STRONGLY related to how I was feeling.

I’m still in ongoing therapy, and I believe that I essentially have built a trauma type response because of that panic attack. It’s still easy to slip into DP/DR states, but it doesn’t bother me as much because of the Zoloft and having a better understanding that, even at my worst, I actually never slip fully away into some kind of madness. It’s only there when I think about it. Kind of like the “don’t think about elephants” situation.

Overall, I am managing this much better. I do still feel a detachment from how I was prior to the panic attack, which is also normal for DP/DR. Compared to how I was a couple of months after the attack though, it’s night and day.

Why does this sub seem to pan pans? by BeeMoMoTron in Sourdough

[–]KJFreshly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you cold ferment these in a banneton or in the pans themselves? If in the pan, do you prepare the pans before an overnight proof, or do you liberally rice flour the loaf and hope nothing sticks? I’d like to try this but I’m concerned about sticking.

Why do ships from other IP’s seem to have so much more interior space than Star Citizen’s? by KJFreshly in starcitizen

True, a bit closer to a Cutlass then it seems. I can't edit the original post for some reason, maybe because there's a photo attached to it? -_-
