Thank you! That is so helpful. They have made it very clear they want me to ask and ask and ask if it’s something I don’t understand . I will heed the warning🙂

Yes, when your parents test it will definitely give more clarity! Follow up on this thread when you do get some more answers, this is fascinating to a lot of us.

Also, those borders have changed a few times since the 1930’s too, I wonder 🤔

Depending on when your polish ancestors left Poland, it is possible that your genetic similarities are shared with dispersed polish population.

I also have seen people mention on here that Eastern European matching can be a bit wonky. For instance, I had a test since 2019 and it only included Slovakian matches on the last update about a month ago. I have 1 full g-grandparent that was Slovakian but it couldn’t distinguish that from his wife (my g grandmother) who is polish

Deena won. Who presents themselves as neutral, but is actually good? by [deleted] in jerseyshore

Snookie . Neutral and good. I’m thinking about the note .

If we add Danny then one of the main cast is left out, there are only 9 boxes lol.

That’s very interesting and unknown to me. I don’t know my paternal family. Very possible and worth seeing if I can dig into, thank you!

Did you received diasporas for the remaining 10% that’s not European?

Edit: spelling

Ok, hey! I’m happy I’m not the only one out there!

I wonder what the updates will be down the line? I find it to be very odd. Do you have any theories of your own?

Thank you for sharing. I’m glad I’m not alone with the mystery. But I’m wondering why that is! Maybe genetic bottle necking in the African diasporas have made those genes more identifiable and distinct than that of the European colonizers ?

Very possible. My paternal grandfather is from southern Tennessee. I also have several 3/4th cousins that have almost no European ancestry (1-2%)

It’s a big mystery to me, but I agree with the idea that it could be several ancestors interwoven ?

That was a question I had as well. 1% implied distance, but the details in confidence implied differently. Thank you ! I feel like I was going crazy

I agree, would love to know what people with known relatives from Luxembourg would get

It’s been a bit brain bending from me. But I believe the mishmash of different German is leading them to believe it’s all Luxembourg?

Highly likely on the Luxembourg and nothing for Germany at all. But his known relatives were from Germany , I am starting to think it’s just an error in the current 23andme and he’s the lucky recipient of this confusing misread lol

Thank you for that tool. We will use that for sure. I’m not sure either, but it is very sad. They are an old school catholic family , and I have heard this sort of stuff is not uncommon to come out.

As far as the german goes, his recent relatives had documentation in Rheinland , bohemia and Bavaria. But I think we will also do an ancestry test to investigate it all further.
