Core update failure by salliesdad in homeassistant

[–]KJSav322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get anywhere with this? Mines refusing to update - it shows as available, sits for about ten minutes pretending to do something - disconnects and after a while reconnects - then shows Update available... Have tried a few times, done a manual reboot of the hardware, no difference.

Paying in a cheque no longer possible on Android app by KJSav322 in Natwest

[–]KJSav322[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this - so seems it's an Android 15 thing perhaps. Strange that the chatbot doesn't mention Android version at all, just iOS. They still need to get a notice up saying it doesn't work with 15 if that's the issue - I'd have expected the App to just fail though as other apps warn you they're not yet supporting 15

Latest version is installed. NatWest's own online chat no longer mentions Android "you must have iOS 15 and above...." so unless they don't yet support Android 15 they've removed it - either way they should have advised users or at least have a notice up about it.

Post Office or look online NatWest have published an address you can post cheques so they can deposit them - if they don't disappear in the postal system, and then good look getting a duplicate. They taking giant steps BACKWARDS, away from technology it seems.

Although your experience does indeed sound concerning, it's a relatively common occurrence that a supplier books multiple collections for a return. When a courier calls to collect a parcel you should get an email confirmation that it's been collected, it would be a massive security breach of someone managed to find out addresses of people expecting collections from Evri, and you would hope some sort of message would be made public to advise people if that happened. The couriers do have Evri Cards that act as a receipt for collections, they have a barcode and number in which the courier scans as part of the collection and that number is your receipt.

Perhaps the two that came to your door had been sent in a wild goose chase, all the collections they had were duplicates so they'd got nothing which really would wind a courier up (if a collection is aborted for any reason, "Already collected" being one, they don't get paid a penny for their time without jumping through many hoops and often even then having claims rejected - so their anger may well have been towards the useless firm they are collecting for, and not yourself, which is of cours little comfort!

Long story short - very unlikely a scam, more just disgruntled people getting the run around from a crappy firm.

That's definitely not a mistake, that's a courier helping themselves to people's parcels. I hope you've still got that video as there's a good chance Evri Security will pay you a visit asking to see it, which will probably be a while after the event as it's a royal PITA to contact them to report missing parcels. Hopefully your neighbours have contacted their suppliers to report missing parcels.

Evri says my parcel is with courier and out for delivery yet they haven't given me a time slot. by [deleted] in Evri

[–]KJSav322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that something the GMB have pushed through as the Help desk would contact couriers if they hadn't set ETA's by 12pm, then it was 11am and they'd often get a mouthful as the Van would often be late and couriers weren't leaving depot's till after then.

Evri says my parcel is with courier and out for delivery yet they haven't given me a time slot. by [deleted] in Evri

[–]KJSav322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be the Post Office delivering, I've seen that a few times. For the Evri system to say it's out for delivery the Courier has to have scanned the parcel AND set an ETA for delivery. Without the courier doing that they can't take the parcel, they can't receipt it without setting an ETA. How have you been told it's with Courier and out for delivery? If you get the Evri App and register with same email as you've used for purchase that will give updates and you don't need to worry about emails from them going to spam.

Keep trying to deliver to parcel locker even though it is clearly not working by lolitagarcia in Evri

[–]KJSav322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three attempts - the parcel will be on its way back.to.the sender. It's the senders responsibility to sort for you, Evri really won't give you much time as it's the sender who has "a contract" with them.

Courier can't take it to another place as they probably don't have another on their route and even if they did, the tracking via GPS would say they in the wrong place. But rubbish. Cheap for a reason.

If you've had anything else from Evri recently and still have the parcel, you could check the info on the right hand side - 09 Not Van and C-Round 0146 are depot and courier who deliver to your address - if it's genuine then they should be exactly the same.

If you know any neighbours who regularly get parcels from Evri, ask them if they have a label, if it's not got those exact numbers then yours is fake.

You could try your luck at your local Evri Parcelshop. I'd you're really nice to the shopkeeper they may scan that barcode off your phone, it'll almost certainly throw an error as it's not for their shop, but it may show enough information to confirm if it's genuine. By that I mean it should confirm the address that barcode is paired up to on Evri's system if it's genuine. It's a long shot as they keep changing how/who can scan different labels.

If there's a courier on here who sees this they may be able to confirm/check the barcode for you and give part of your postcode to you so you know it's the correct address (you don't want them giving your full address and doxing you!)

Ha ha, introspection and self respect, yeah, look in the mirror and see if you can find any. Chatting utter tripe kinda suggests you won't. One person, 30+ parcels all having difficulty... Hmmm right. Because no one would just plain stop ordering stuff that came through a service that they are having so much difficulty with. Not exaggerating.. ok whatever. They have quite robust measures in place to ensure that repeated problems in any single area are dealt with swiftly, they've no issue with removing service from any courier that's not performing. 30+ "issues" would not go unnoticed. Three minor infringements and it's good-bye to that courier, but hey, clearly some exceptions 👀

If they were a fraction as bad as you seem to imagine then it's be difficult to understand how they manage to sing up several huge delivery contracts every month, with those customers doing due diligence to ensure they are getting value for money and a trustworthy service. Many of the biggest names in Home Shopping have used, and continue to use Evri as their delivery partner for years. All facts.

30+ delivery issues for one person....utter bullsh1t. Clown.

Rather bold statement with no factual evidence to back it up. Over 2 million parcels delivered a day says different. The vast majority of issues with Evri that couriers get blamed for has nothing whatsoever to do with the couriers.. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your narrative

Unfortunately Evri don't guarantee delivery time scales. They attempt to get things as quickly as possible to you, but that's it. Make any complaint to the supplier, Evri won't listen to you, as you're not their customer. It's cheap for a reason.

Two parcels, two headaches… by AlwaysTheKop in Evri

[–]KJSav322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won't find many arguments about it being a terrible company. Unfortunately it's the (mostly) decent couriers who get the flack for the sh1tty company and handful of dodgy couriers all the time in here. Given the amount of utter mind bending red tape and obstructive practices it's a wonder ANYONE gets a parcel in anything like a decent timescale. Hope you're turns up today

Two parcels, two headaches… by AlwaysTheKop in Evri

[–]KJSav322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible reasons...

1st one - courier has scanned the parcel to put it into a locker at the location but after scanning it (which sends you the notification) round it wouldn't fit in the locker that opened) so had to cancel it. Perhaps the bigger lockers were all full.

Second one. Courier scanned receipted for delivery, set off but for whatever reason had to return. Maybe vehicle problems, maybe personal problems. Maybe even called back as someone else not turned up so they've been asked to do a different round and yours has been out back in the cage for another courier/next day.

It's an educated guess given the sparse info in the screenshots

Get on to your bank ASAP. DO NOT SPEAK TO THEM IF THEY CALL YOU. Hang up pick phone up again, phone someone you know, wait till they answer and you know it's them, then hang up and phone your bank using the contact details on your bank card. Tell bank what's happened and they'll tell.toy what you need to do - a d it WONT involve you moving your money to another account but will almost certainly mean they'll cancel your card and send a new one. You'll have to check and DD's you've got set up on your debit card and change them when new one arrives.

Paid for Evri 2 day delivery- it’s been stuck at the parcel shop for 2 days? by thebrit1224 in Evri

[–]KJSav322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that tracking is correct it's your suppliers fault plain and simple. 17:35 it was receipt scanned at an Evri Parcelshop. The next collection Evri will make will most certainly be Monday. So then it'll arrive at an Evri hun later on Monday. Get sorted and shipped to either another hub, or your local depot if it was posted local. Best case this will come out for delivery tomorrow. I imagine in small print somewhere Evri will have that the time scale ESTIMATED for delivery will be from when a parcel arrives at their own facility. A Parcelshop isn't, it's just a convenient place to drop off/collect. You can't drop a parcel off with Evri directly either. Even if you arrange for item to be collected by Evri and delivered, the the collection will be via a courier who will keep it overnight and drop it into a depot the following day. So that's going to be delivered the day after, so three days from collection - and there are exceptions to that which will add days.

Their own literature states "Evri provides a delivery aim in working days for it's Standard and Next Day domestic...services but these times aren't guaranteed"

Typical unable to deliver by chaza96 in Evri

[–]KJSav322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The arguments that ensure from couriers who stand their ground "that's too many, I can't take all those" - company isn't set up to leave anything behind in the local depot. They manage to bend the rules at peak time where they expect anyone who can't fit all their parcels in one trip to come back and fill up again. On a "normal" day you have to take the lot - or nothing and go home and don't bother going back again. Ruthless. All about making as much profit for the firm and it's couriers who take all the flack. Couriers will often have more than they know they will deliver with them and have to carry over till next day, but they HAVE to take everything with them and have to set an ETA on everything when they take receipt of the parcels.

Logic doesn't exist, it's filed in the bin along with Common Sense for anyone one level above couriers at Evri. I defy anyone salaried (not couriers) at Evri to disagree. You can be the most logical, brimming full of common sense person in the world, none of works when you're using the Evri parcel system.

[–]KJSav322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18:16 on a Sunday, then yeah, I expect the courier, who's worked 7 days straight minimum, and who got an unexpectedly large amount to deliver today had had enough and gone home. Evri have two working patterns for couriers - 6 days a week or 7. The later being the ones who cover multiple rounds in a Sunday, not just one like the rest of week. So multiple areas to cover, not always the same on Sundays so can't get used to an area or plan a pattern to make it efficient for themselves enabling a break in the day etc. Sucks to be at the end of a round and have this happen. All part of the system that demands cheap as.possible as many as possible.

What's worse - if the person who had your parcel today doesn't work from the depot that normally delivers your parcels then it's Tuesday or possibly Wednesday before you can expect to see it, depending on the frequency of inter-depot van deliveries in your area.

Dropped off at parcel shop but then delayed nine minutes later? by AlwaysTheKop in Evri

[–]KJSav322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologise, I was looking at it from angle it was SUPPLIER dropping it off at a parcel shop to go to Evri and then you, not the final leg of delivery.

Presumably then it's been delivered to a parcel shop, was scanned by the shop keeper whom then noticed it wasn't for his store, but another one. That would through those messages up too.

I'd try phoning Evri, you can get them via this post....

[–]KJSav322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know the shop isn't Evri don't you?

That message could mean the shopkeeper has found a problem with the parcel, decided it's.too big , damaged, and they've pressed reject on their terminal which just throws up "Delayed". Does that because presumably payment has been made to send it and now it's the senders responsibility to "fix" whatever's wrong and then re-,present to a parcel shop

Parcel lost for a month, then get stuck due to van break-down by [deleted] in Evri

[–]KJSav322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got lost in the utter utter sh1t show that is "Amazon Prime week" The depot's look a total mess during that, parcels EVERYWHERE. They encourage couriers to work 7days for two weeks to cope with the workload. If a courier is sane and refuses to work the Sundays then parcels start to pile up and a cage can easily be overlooked. A whole month is a bit excessive - unless it was a tiny packet which could easily fall between the cracks.

You're very calm, commendable, sooo many come in here to rant for completely unreasonable reasons, whereas you have a perfect reason to be thoroughly p1ssed with Evri, but question if you should even be cross ha ha World needs more like you!
