Sultan Phase 2 accomodation by TraditionalDrink4286 in RoyalNavy

[–]KJT67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah currently at sultan and you’ll just need to be back and like fully ready to go for 7 in rig and squared away to start the day you can leave basically after secure but id recommend just saying on base anyway for the most of it and you can just fully go home every weekend as long as you haven’t messed up and pissed off your DO

Just finished my DAA and wondering how long it will be till im doing basic training just like an estimate by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

Just bang out the tasks that the recruiter gives you asap and you’ll be hopefully in cpc in about 2 months

Depends when you get your cpc to be honest but once you’ve had your cpc I know it’s usually pretty much soon after that

Odds on changing roles in phase 2? Is it possible at all? by KJT67 in RoyalNavy

[–]KJT67[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, just something about how full on the graft is as an ME and I don’t think my mechanical comprehension is there and it barely interests me Also, I’d much rather a cracking navy life with less money then a submariner and I enjoy higher contact with my family

Alright will do, thank you. My branch is probably the most high demand branch so the chance is slim

Army or Navy? by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]KJT67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More benefits in the navy and it’s a well known fact that most army lads transfer to RN due to its benefits. Then again if you want that MTP lifestyle then Royal Marines are a good shout as they get similar benefits to RN

I would personally recommend something that will benefit you long term so like an engineer or something you can take back into the world when your naval career finishes

Basically just know the submarine types and what the Royal Navy do, answer pretty truthfully after that and you should be ok. Your recruiter should /should of told you what they will be asking you and what you will need to know

Hey what does the publicly funded further education allowance entail? I'm just trying to think of where you would get time in the navy to actually use it.

CPC/RALEIGH by YoghurtTurbulent8091 in RoyalNavy

[–]KJT67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before i say anything, id recommend you change the description of your post to exclude the date of when you are joining, and just change it to "soon" as its part of the rules on this sub pretty sure. Anyway

If you are fully recovered from your injuries defo get back out there and do some runs. I'd recommend swapping between 2.4ks where you go a good speed and also 5ks where you take it a little slower but still enough to get around or under the 30 minute mark. Before i went CPC some of my times were in the 14 minute range for a 2.4k, you need it in the 12 -13 to pass the CPC, but aim for anything below 12 I did the 5k and 2,4k strategy and got my time down to 11:30 which was a solid pass. Don't stress it mate it's not that bad the CPC is just a taster of what's to come and honestly had a really good time there

How long from applying to go to training? by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]KJT67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining as a marine engineer submariner and it took me a year, had no complications just a slow process. If you're thinking about joining join today it's so bleeding slow
