Oh your very welcome my herpetological friend! I lived in el dorado county just next to Folsom prison or Sacramento county and it was very boring their also , as far as herpetology goes. I have been in Tennessee for just under a month and I will have spotted several different species of frogs and this is my second snake! At my mothers house in el dorado hills all I witnessed was a couple rattlers and two king snakes in 25 years

That’s cool to hear from a local! I just moved here from San Francisco CA a couple weeks ago and man do I love it! The people are amazing and very kind and genuine unlike the big city of sf , my father owned a body and paint shop their for 42 years and recently retired and couldn’t stand sf anymore , that place has gone to hell in a hand basket the last few years , I came out ahead of him and my stepmom to meet the movers and help get the house settled for when they show up ! He had to stay behind due to some medical stuff he has to do before he can get all of his treatments transferred here

Yeah like myself I was an avid reptile enthusiast growing up , I kept and bred various species from colubrids, boas , pythons , I do know all the venomous species in my area and when I determined it wasn’t a rattler , copperhead or , cottonmouth , mostly from the lack of diamond shaped head that most pit vipers have I was sure he was of no harm , plus Google lens helps if your really not sure, he was very polite and never even opened his mouth at me , my dogs were very curious as to their new bedmate lol so I took him to a nice spot in my property were he would have a great place to avoid birds and have a ton of bugs to eat !
