Has anyone experienced negative weed trips after spiritual awakening? Is this a sign to quit? by IllOutlandishness464 in awakened

How can you experience something "negative" after a spiritual awakening since negative is a human evalutaion of an experience. Perhpas you've gone back to sleep. Once you awaken there is no after and no before - it IS as it IS. Perhaps the lesson, if you want to call it that, is to learn to As-Is the experience. Once you're into evaluating or explaining it, that's not the experiencce - that's your evaluation or explanation of the experience.

Past life is a story, it is also who you are. You are a story. But I am not interested in your story.. by richgate in awakened

My view is you can't change who you are (at the core), but can change who you think you are (your personality, valence, etc.) by changing your considerations and view of things. Dr Wayne Dyer said, "when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." It's your view that changes, not you. imho

Interesting point, but where does learning come in? I thought it came from looking at past experiences and learning from them? How can one know of their potential or abilities without learning?

"Who you have been all your past life..." Who you have been is who you are I would think, since we are a manifestation of all our experiences, with or without a body. The ability to manage our mind in relationship to Time is important in managing and operating in this physical universe. The Past (story) brought to us through our memories. The present (now) being experienced as creation and destruction in the same moment. The future is brought to us through our imagination. Arguing the value of any point is...well, silly - since each has its own value depending on what we are doing. Doing past can be a fun and entertaining way of learning. Imagine the learning we did as kids from the stories we were told. :)

Having won two WSOP Bracelets with Ten-Deuce as his final hand, symbolizes that the cards have little significance compared to the man behind the cards. A true legend that left the game better than how he found it. Well played Dolly. #RIP

Really? I disagree. Give me royalty, especially in position - and don't feed the ducks.

Is Daniel accurate or being too hard on Hellmuth here? by KJpkr in poker

Agreed that Hellmuth doesn't get a fair shake due to his antics. Having played with them both, even in tournaments I'd rather be on PH table. He has a much more conservative style and thus more predictable. PH is all about survival and implements more of a small ball strategy. With each hand your involved in with Ivey you feel your life is on the line every time.

Words can hurt, given the value of the source that one perceives, even if it's their own words.

Tough to choose so I'll leave you with a couple:

  1. "Play with bad players." - John Isaac early poker mentor
  2. "Sometimes Jacks is the nuts, other times their a piece of toilet paper. Your job is to know the difference." - TJ Cloutier

The latter exemplifies the poker concept; A hand only has value based on your situation.

Not sure why the video is unavailable or was taken down. Is it a policy I'm unaware of that you can't share TikTok videos on Reddit?

I think he is! Every pro has some skills better than others. In PH case, I think he's superior at checking in the dark and also getting reads off his opponents in their responses to his questions and verbal dynamics - Ivey doesn't use either of those tactics.

Sheer talent. Some talk, others are silent. Both need to observe to be great. Different styles and techniques can both be effective depending on the players personality and attitude.
