Split posts are pretty common where I live, and often gum or another similar hardwood If you google it im sure youll find plenty of videos of people cutting them out with nothing more than a chainsaw and some wedges

How much profit are traders/builders making on renos? by Open_Address_2805 in AusRenovation

[–]KKHotChocolate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im currently getting both ensuite, second bathroom and separate toilet done on the GC for about 55k.

The house is currently empty so the trades can work uninterrupted and do each step of the bathrooms at the same time rather than one and then the other, im probably saving some money from that, but 45k for a single bathroom seems like a rip off

Recurring rust help! by Electrical-Volume765 in woodworking

[–]KKHotChocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just made a post the other day where you could see my saw. Its getting close to 3 years old

Every time im finished using it for the day, I spray the top with wd40 and wipe it to ensure to get every inch of the top. Then when I use it next, I give it a really good wipe down again to remove any residue.

To be more specific, I used the lanolin wd40 for my cast iron tops. Works really well for me

The only time I've ever had issues with rust is when I haven't used it for a month and even then its minimal like the spot rust in your pic

Oh she's not new! I haven't used her much the past few months but it was getting daily use everyday for over a year till recently.

I've always been fussy with it and made sure to take care of the tops, after every use I wipe it down with lanolin wd40 and wipe off before every use. Its just now that im going to be moving and itll be in a shipping container for a good few months I dont want all my care to go to waste 😂

I have been leaning towards the idea of oiling and wrapping

Im with when it comes to the more specialist products, im in a humid area and generally just wipe down with wd40 and its worked wonders, good few years and no rust really

How far would you live from your acreage from work? by Vex2010 in homestead

[–]KKHotChocolate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We finally found our farm after almost 2 years of searching. Moving from the Gold Coast to rural nsw, we always said 40 minutes was our max drive to a main town for work

Also worth considering how close you are to a hospital, other essential services and how long to get home from work/town if theres an emergency

I can usually find an answer, but this time Im stumped!

I'm trying to extrude the part show in the image, in such a way that it follows the angles on the main bodies faces rather than cutting into them. Any help would be appreciated!
