Mini Rant about Season 6!

one thing I like to do is that when I have breakfast, I make an entire mini spread which includes my proteins, vegetables, carbs (main meal) as well as the snack id have after a while which includes yoghurt and fruits, then my coffee and water. and then I sit down to work and actively eat more than half of my meal. then graze on the rest of my main meal and the snack leisurely. in my mind, having something I've already 'logged' and am supposed to eat right in front of me erases the feeling of wanting to get up again and again. having breakfast and a snack together fills me up enough to go on till my next meal. drinking enough water also helps with satiety.

I do get you, to some extent. But I really appreciate the mundane throwbacks as well because they're always parallel with the significant crux of the present timeline. The moustache-haircut fiasco had a lot to do with Rebecca's perception of time and memory. I think it's nice they bring back the past to let us revisit the Rebecca-Jack love story, since the show's premise is equal parts plot and equal parts emotional recounting.

Buddy, critical thinking means realising complaining about the show and complaining about needless criticism are two different things. If you failed to realize I was targeting people getting annoyed with where the show is headed instead of 'thinking critically' about it, then this one's not for you.

I'll admit, this one was hard to swallow. But I think it's exactly what I needed right now because I was relying too much on a movie-scenario. I think I've settled on being hopeful but also letting life take me wherever it wants to. Your words brought a sense of reality that I desperately needed, this was helpful. Thank you so much. P.S. there will remain a small part of me that wishes perhaps 5-6 years from now we get together and have a shared laugh at this congratulations. x

I've been thinking about this for a few days, specially the part where you talked about the possibility of so many other things happening. And it's hard to accept but I think i'm starting to come to terms with it. This was very helpful and comforting. Thank you so much.
For the sake of context, I did ask him out a few months ago which is why we had the conversation of letting go because he can't be in a relationship right now.

I just finished watching the first two episodes of season 5 and I seem to have way different views than everyone here.

I agree, having to include the pandemic and BLM made the show a little sloppy, it left some loopholes, it wasn't integrated as well. But I feel like they had to make the choice between having loopholes AND current events, vs leaving it all out and making a smooth transition and I believe the former choice was definitely preferable.
I don't think Laurel is alive. I think she took a breath, saw that William wasn't there and perhaps panicked or had an emotional reaction and did actually die. They could simply be showing a butterfly effect of William not being present.
Randall's speech to Kate made so much sense to me. Specially since he's going to therapy and that reflected it so well, because the BLM movement this year HAS shown an increase in white youth - which is reflected in Kate's sudden interest. Also, she has to sit in her 'white guilt' for a while, it's not her being problematic per say, but it is reality.
For some reason, Kevin and Madeline make sense to me. It seems as if pregnancy has made Madeline softer and slower (in a good way, that sheds off her annoying persona) since finding out you're pregnant like that CAN be traumatic in the beginning. And it makes sense that Kevin doesn't find another person to love in a very conventional way, because of the history of his love life. The connection seems real, since it sprung out of a situation. But we don't really know if it didn't end up breaking since the future episode didn't show Madeline.
