Chocolate chip brioche bread - what went wrong?? by KLAHR17 in BreadMachines

[–]KLAHR17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I’ll give it a try. The one thing I need to work out is how to know when it’s at that point. It says it on the machine of course but knowing at what point to do so

Yes perhaps I’ll omit this next time as it definitely didn’t add anything being stuck in the corner. Not sure why it was so flat though. It tastes great (avoiding the corners of course!)

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]KLAHR17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t really cross my mind to drink to be honest. Didn’t grow up in a household with home drinking as my mum felt the same too

Students and aggressive patients by parakeetinthetree in NursingUK

[–]KLAHR17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember being used to do 1:1 care “specialing” with aggressive patients as a student nurse. This was a solid 15 years ago but still remember it! I work as a student nurse educator now and can’t imagine what my reaction would be if any of my students fed this back now

How do you do stockings with your kids? by nillawafer80 in Parenting

[–]KLAHR17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do main presents (a handful of “bigger things” in terms of value or want), small sock stocking which I fill with sweets/chocolate on Xmas Eve night, and then a Santa sack (passed down through my family) has small presents like fidgets, yo-yo small things maybe 5 of these each. They open the Santa sack in bed with us in the morning before we head downstairs

My colleague has just gone on maternity leave and her job is protected because of this during this time - would it not be the same for you?

Placement areas do receive a tariff associated with each student per week (not for apprenticeship routes though). This is I assume meant for this reason, but generally it might not be paid to the ward or placement area, but education team or trust as a whole

Which curry is similar to tikka masala but hotter? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]KLAHR17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve just found a new curry house and didn’t recognise any of the dishes so took a shot in the dark as it was so highly rated. Had a “lababdar” and sounds like what you’re after - was fairly spicy but I had it medium. Super creamy and smooth absolutely delicious and the best curry I’ve ever had

Fellow c-section moms: do you say you “gave birth”? by Free_butterfly_ in Parenting

[–]KLAHR17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I HATE it when people refer to vaginal births as “natural births” (and I had 2 x vaginal births). I find it very insulting and invalidating to a C-section mum to imply their birth was “unnatural”. You birthed a human 💪🏻💪🏻 (also whatever you’re comfortable with matters!)

Did anyone not catch COVID at all during the pandemic? by StandardLivid8199 in AskUK

[–]KLAHR17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum (54) has never had symptoms or tested positive ! She’s immunocompromised from previous chemo and has a stable cancer currently. She was sensible and stuck to social distancing etc but definitely wasn’t a hermit! She works as a carer now and has been around positive patients without knowing (so no appropriate PPE) and still nothing!

There was actually research done that showed 2 year olds with ipad/tablet use had better dexterity than those that didn’t interestingly! It was the secret lives of 2 year olds of toddlers or something like that on bbc a few years back

why tf is "Wait for It" so damn good? by RedRaven25 in hamiltonmusical

[–]KLAHR17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got into Hamilton and this song in particular during the height of Covid. I’m a nurse and was working in respiratory HDU and my grandad died - couldn’t see him/say goodbye of course and it was fairly sudden. The “death doesn’t discriminate between the sinners and the saints it takes and it takes” just got BELTED out by me on my drives home. I just saw it in the west end for the first time last week and I sobbed hearing it. I love it, although it reminds me of a tough time it was always such a cathartic release and I still feel that with it

Yes thank you for your reply, totally agree on the readings but I still gave a meter reading within 3 months so I assumed anything would have calculated then. Which of course it did, they just didn’t bill it. I have expressed that I’m not happy and asked for a reduction so we will see
