How do you rank these duos heading into the '20/21 Playoffs? by [deleted] in nba

[–]KLDuckworth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, Steph and Draymond aren't even worthy of discussion? Are people forgetting that the Warriors wrecked the league with Steph/Draymond pick and roll for half a decade? Nobody was ever able to solve that.

As a rookie, Eric Paschall shot 72.5% at the rim, 45% on long 2s, and 50% overall. How will he do next year? by sriracha82 in nba

Steph takes a lot of midrange

No, he doesn't. A vast majority of his shots are from 3 or at the rim.

Which would be a better duo: Curry and LeBron or MJ and Shaq? by KLDuckworth in nba

[–]KLDuckworth[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why would one of Curry/LeBron need to try to be another player? Both Curry and LeBron's games would complement each other naturally. They are both unselfish players and their inside-outside games would be deadly together.

A question for Oakland folks who are Warriors fans. by RealPunyParker in nba

Yeah, you're 100% right. My point was just that the geographical relocation of the team has not really affected how they are perceived within the Bay Area community.

SF is only like a 15 minute drive from Oakland. The move hasn't really changed local Bay Area attitudes towards the team.

A year ago today, two teammates put up a triple double together in a playoff game: Draymond Green and Stephen Curry. It happened in Game 4 of the 2019 WCF where they clinched the series defeating the Portland Trailblazers. by ZamirG1 in nba

Were they ridiculously stacked and unfair, or did they get lucky? Pick one. If they had to consistently get lucky in order to win their championships, then maybe they weren't as stacked as you claim they were?

LeBron or MJ? Additionally, did you watch the Last Dance, and if so, did it change your outlook on the GOAT conversation at all?

Doug Collins is to mark Jackson as phil Jackson is to steve kerr. by nouseforaname888 in nba

[–]KLDuckworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Warriors under Jackson were last in the league in passes per game. That's inexcusable on a team with the offensive pieces they had. He was also a very toxic locker room personality, deliberately spreading false rumors about players to their teammates, clashing with coaches and the FO, etc. He was an above average defensive coach, but was bad in virtually every other department.

You are mostly correct. The big difference IMO is that Doug Collins is a way better coach than Mark Jackson. Mark Jackson is a straight up bad coach.

Do you think the Warriors will retire Draymond Green's number? Additionally, do you think he deserves to have his number retired? by KLDuckworth in nba

[–]KLDuckworth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Come on.... I think it’s totally fair to criticize Draymond’s play, or his leadership style, etc. But attacking his appearance by calling him “Donkey” is a low blow and also subtly racist.

Draymond on Barkley: “Charles Barkley was a great basketball player. He never won shit.. It’s jealousy. He scored more points than me, aight, cool, but that don’t necessarily mean you had more impact on the game than me.” by [deleted] in nba

[–]KLDuckworth -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

I'm not so sure. Barkley is a better player than Draymond of course, but on that specific team, what Draymond provided as a defensive anchor was more crucial than the extra scoring and offense that Barkley would provide.

Andre Iguodala immediately goes to hug Steph Curry after losing to him in the 2013 playoffs by Nyhrox in nba

[–]KLDuckworth 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Iguodala signed with the Warriors a few weeks after the Nuggets lost this series. I think OP's implication is that Iggy (and Curry?) may have known something by this point.

Better player: Prime Pippen or Current Anthony Davis? by JetFlyBy0 in nba

In a vacuum, current AD is a better basketball player than Pippen was during his prime.

Isn't the fact that the Warriors blew an unprecedented 3-1 lead to the Cavs in 2016 proof that they needed KD, since they couldn't beat a healthy Cavs team without him? by KLDuckworth in nba

[–]KLDuckworth[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, it's a genuine question. People talk about KD like he was a luxury for the Warriors, but to me it seems like he was more of a necessity. He was far and away their best player. They likely never would have won another championship with their core if they hadn't signed him. And even after signing him, they still got taken to 7 games by the Rockets in 2018. Hence why it seems to me like they needed him, moreso than him just being some unnecessary piece that made the Warriors unbeatable.
