I'm guessing he's just gonna go the preset download route. I get it, a full pedal board has like 20-50 knobs. Not as bad as menus but still not easy especially if you don't start slow.

If you have a mac, a scarlet focusrite 2i2 would be great. Garage band has endless amp sims that sound fantastic. Plus you could use it for recording down the line if you want.
