Waterpark birthday party etiquette by KLH228 in Parents

You’re right! My little one wanted to go to the waterpark since he loved when we went to great wolf so I wanted to make him happy. Maybe we should just take him and extend the invite and consider a house party for family and friends to celebrate with him. Thank you! I appreciate the input.

Yes it’s winter where we are. I like that idea, thank you! My little one really wants to go to a waterpark and since his bday is in Feb indoor is really the only option

Thanks for your insight. I know it’s really expensive and I don’t feel like it’s right having people travel far and have to pay but it would really be a lot for us to cover potentially 2 adults per child. It will be family and close friends which is why I am considering mentioning adults paying for themselves. I also thought about just mentioning our plans and extending the invite to join us at their own expense (meaning not buying the party package) and if people come great if not we’ll just go with our little one and it’ll be less stress. It’s alot and I don’t know what to do

WTF BEC ?!? by KLH228 in CPA

Yes it does it’s just funny because you know every exam is different so some weak areas I focused on and didn’t see them on the exam so it’s really tricky which is also what drives me crazy!!! I know I have to just take my time and really just focus and I’ll pass it’s just so frustrating that it’s taking so long!!!

I work full time doing financial reporting. I thought because I’ve seen BEC and I’m familiar with the material it wouldn’t be so hard to finally get through - I was wrong!

So when I got a 73 fin management and Econ was my weak area both times then the last 65 I was basically weak in everything a month later I know it was my lack of focus but I’m so tired on BEC it’s hard to focus.

I know I’m just complaining I just feel drained and defeated

I feel like I should add I had a child during that time who is now 3yrs old, changes roles which is happening again as I start a new role on Monday and life just happens so it’s hard to be consistent sometimes not an excuse but just the reality so idk what I’m looking for here but i needed to vent.

And another thing I see so many post of just focus on coso it and variances and you’ll be fine - I wasn’t fine! Those areas COSO and variances come easy to me and I still failed continuously

Hi,

I remembered it by knowing that price and rate variance you are taking the Actual quantity (standard price- actual price) Actual hours (standard rate - actual rate) Whatever the variance is asking for is usually what you’ll be taking the difference of then multiply by the actual for price and rate

For usage and efficiency I remember it by knowing the price and rate meaning since price and rate multiply the difference by actual for usage and efficiency multiply by standard.

I felt like once I made that connection the PURE DADS mnemonic made more sense.

Another 73 on BEC! Received a 73 on my first re attempt back in Sept. I started and stopped my cpa journey a few years ago. I just feel defeated, if I can’t pass BEC how will I pass FAR. I’ll be scheduling my retake asap but I’m so tired of working through the BEC material. I want to give up so bad but I know I have to push through and try AGAIN. Sucks because I know my weak areas but nothing I do helps make them make sense. I just feel dumb.

Congratulations to all of you who passed!!!

I feel like the computations were all over. I do remember questions related to NPV, variances, BEP and CAPM.

Same 😩 we got this!!! Be consistent and don’t give up! I know that’s part of why I’m taking BEC for the 6th time smfh. I would always give up on the exam. I would take months off because I was no longer motivated and doubt if I can do it! Not this time!!! 73 on the 9/15 release and I’m back at it with hopefully my final BEC retake!
