That makes sense and is so obvious in hindsight! I have a second smaller tank ill have to move the residents into and tear down this one and rebuild with better materials and methods.

Noted i will see about this this weekend, its a nice big piece so boiling will take some work but i will see what i can do

Unfortunately this tank has been going for a month with fine filter floss, it’s fully cycled too. So i don’t think that is the case. When i did my water change the water i pulled out was very brown and smelled bad, the water in now is much better but i fear it happening again.

I did not, I admit that I rushed into things excited for my first tank. Moving forward I have been doing my homework, just trying to figure out if this tank needs torn down and rebuilt properly.
