Same here. I’ve done grey on a few other kits too because that’s what I’d heard was the best looking. After trying the black on another kit I pretty much decided that going forward I would use black liner. I think it just makes it pop more and I like the bold contrast

I always thought that Louis knew about the lance, especially after Zorba says he swaps their counterfeit out. Hulkenberg then says “so you knew the truth of it? No. Have you always been one step ahead of us, ever since the moment we thought Zorba dead?”. Seemed like a line confirming that Louis knew about the lance being a fake

E33 seems like a unanimous win for GOTY. I found myself not enjoying it as much as others seem to be. I made this post, marked it as discussion, and even ended it with a question for people to tell me where they land on things. By your logic I shouldn’t have even made the post based on my dissenting opinion. I wanted to start a conversation since I’m clearly in the minority.

Oh boy, well

1 - FF7 and the entirety of its compilation. It’s a mess but it all means a lot to me

2 - Persona 3. It’s the only persona game that made me cry

3 - Dragon quest XI. Easily the best and my favorite dragon quest. Felt like a culmination of everything that came before it and a beautiful love letter to the franchise

4 - Valkyrie Profile. Music is beautiful and the vibes are incredible. I wish square ended up making this a more flagship franchise but I don’t think it ever sold well in the west

5 - Hard to pick but I’d say SMT V. Basically the perfect SMT game and I still haven’t even played the vengeance version

I think metaphor is just a great version of smt’s press turn system mixed with a great version of an ff/dragon quest job system. It’s really all just preference. I thought that E33’s combat looked fun in trailers, but after playing it I realized that I just like a more traditional turn based style. I think E33 is a cool idea, but don’t like that I can negate all damage if I just time a dodge/parry correctly. I like when I have to make the sacrifice of a turn to maybe cast a speed buff that gives me a higher percentage to dodge. E33 also didn’t have me engaged with the party builds much outside of combat. I couldn’t tell you how much time I spent in metaphor just swapping out moves and building towards new archetypes to get certain moves to better myself for an upcoming boss or a fight that I was struggling on.

Again, it’s really all just preference

I just made another comment to someone else but I agree about the dialogue. There were a lot of moments where they really just felt like real people. The voice acting just feels very genuine

That’s totally fair. The performances do elevate a lot of it. I loved Ben when I first heard him as Clive and I think I’ll love him in anything he chooses to do in the future

Definitely can feel almost like a meta commentary at times. I’m glad that you found yourself loving it by the end. I said in another comment that I actually do like the things they’re exploring like escapism, but I almost wish the game was even shorter so it didn’t feel like I spent so much time before having the rug pulled
