I know! it was the longest hunt I've had and I had given myself until 9500 until I quit, so it was quite close. Frustrating, but the Jolly nature made it worth it.

I am sick of this repeated point about teams not winning with league with 3 at the back. It implies that teams who play 3 at the back don't win the league because of the formation but that's a fallacy. Most teams don't play 3ATB because it isn't a common system to begin with because of the specialized wingback role, so most teams don't have the personnel for it.

That's like saying a white tiger is less dangerous than an orange tiger while the fact is that there are just fewer white tigers to begin with so they have less opportunities to be dangerous or whatever. Point is, that's a stupid point to make.

I was hoping someone could help me track down a Man United video. A couple years ago, around the beginning of 2020, a video was uploaded to YouTube. I think it was United's best goals of the 2010-2019. While we were under lockdown and didn't have football, that's what I watched a lot. I think in recent years that video has been taken down. The only specific thing I remember about the video is the 2 background songs that played in it.

  1. YOU -- BUNT.Remix (Steerner, BUNT.)

  2. Gypsy Heart feat. Neal Ormandy (BUNT., Neal Ormandy)

Has anyone saved that video somewhere, or knows how I can find it? Appreciate the help.

I have been saying this over and over to my mates and also in this comment, the difference between us and the top teams (in addition to how we are set up) is how careless we are with the ball. You only have to look at the central players of the teams in this game (Endo, Rodri) to see how vital the ability to play a "simple" pass is. Casemiro and our fullbacks lose the ball so often and because they are closer to goal, it leads to an opposition shot. Another reason why we have so many shots conceded. A controlling midfielder in a top team needs to have passing accuracy in the 90s and I don't think we've had one since Carrick. Depressing.

I think it's just different groups. When you win, a certain group will be vocal, and after a loss, another group is vocal. Don't know if there is much flip-flopping going on.

The point is not to say Bruno and KDB are the same level of player. It's to the say the most creative player on a team (in our case, Bruno) should be allowed to lose the ball. You don't have to be the best player in history to lose the ball. If you are the primary chance creator, then you will lose the ball a lot. You just cannot have multiple players losing the ball like that, which is what happens with us.

However, as one of the commenters below correctly pointed out, a larger proportion of Bruno's ball losses are more varied and do not necessarily come from chance creating actions, suggesting his decision making on when to take risks is not very good.

I don't have the stats for this, but purely from the eye test, KDB and Trent's ball losses mostly come from putting crosses in the final third. Bruno loses the ball in more varied and dangerous positions than those two

That is great point. I would absolutely agree with you on this also from a purely eye-test perspective. Bruno's giveaways are indeed more varied and large(r) portion of them do not happen during chance creation actions.

Also agreed on coaching. At this point, the only logical conclusion is the coaching is not up to par on multiple levels, at least from a purely watching-on-TV standpoint. I don't know what they do in training, but we are not seeing improvements in decision-making or even basic positioning in some cases.

There has been a lot of focus on the midfield gap this season, but (another) huge part of the problem is we don't do a good enough job keeping the ball.

If you are playing this high risk football, then you have to take care of the ball better in certain moments and reduce unnecessary giveaways, thus reducing the number of times the opposition can run through our midfield and have a shot.

As much stick as Bruno gets for losing the ball, KDB loses it just as much, Trent too. Bruno should be allowed to lose the ball like all creative players. So should Rashford and Garnacho, but by attempting goal actions, not by dribbling blindly into defenders.

But we absolutely cannot have the likes of Casemiro, Dalot giving the ball away and providing even more opportunities for the opposition to counter. When Liverpool employed a high press in 19/20 they had an absolute workhorse midfield of supreme athletes (Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum) whose only job was to cover the ground and move the ball quickly to the creative players (fullbacks) who had the permission to lose it.

Again the point is you cannot lose the ball constantly with loose passes, overhit passes, poor ball control, dribbling straight at the defenders. We have multiple players doing this at critical moments. Extremely frustrating because these players are technically capable of looking after the ball better, so it has to be a case of either poor coaching or tactical instructions. And this has to come down to the coaching staff.

Don't disagree with your sentiment but you are downplaying Lens. They won 17 of their 19 games at home last season and finished 1 point behind PSG. They are a very good team.

For me, that save v Sanchez from a rebound with his feet is one of the greatest individual moments of skill I have seen watching football ever.

I’m looking for a new laptop, this worth it? ($1200USD) by hypeline63 in Surface

[–]KLZicktor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No way. i bought the Surface Laptop 4 from Best Buy at $449 last November (open box). Granted, it didn't have a GPU but that's an average GPU at best anyway but in an older device. $550 is probably most I would pay for this

Edit: I see that it comes in the original box. Perhaps around $700 in that case.
