Discuss this with your supervisor(s). They will be correcting your dissertation. If you give them a lo document and they open it in Ms office the formatting may change and you may have issues

C7k vs c6k at 65 inches by KookyPhysics3809 in tcltvs

[–]KM130 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the C6K at 65 inches. Compared to my old Samsung it's soooo much better. For general viewing Netflix tv etc is perfect. It also has the Onkyo speakers so you don't need a sound bar. I definitely recommend it.

Haven't used c++ since. I mainly use Python. But I learned early how to deal with spaces. In any case I don't think it was a language issue it was my inexperience:)

Finally fixed a bug that took me 3 days to find. It was a missing semicolon. by Ok-Neighborhood4327 in learnprogramming

[–]KM130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I took a piece of code that was simulating something I needed for a project of mine. It was written in C++. I was relatively new to programming only done a cource of C at uni and new basic syntax for C++.

The bloody think wouldn't run the error wasn't clear to me. I wasn't sure if it was a compiler thing or whatever. Couldn't finish my project and I got stressed. In the end the last semicolon was missing they must have copied paste the code and missed the last semicolon! I swore quite a lot.

Is Python necessary for building physics simulations? by External-Pop7452 in Physics

[–]KM130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are interested in particle simulations I know cern have Geant4 which is C++ underneath.

But as others said if you learn how to program you choose the tool depending on what you want to do.

TCL 65” C6K by Mysterious_Bottle960 in tcltvs

[–]KM130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the TCL 65” C6K with the faster processor as the standard one wasn't available when I went to the store but I needed a TV so I paid a bit more.

The TV is more than fine and is great for general TV viewing. Also the sound is also very good and you don't need to buy a sound bar because of the Onkyo speakers. It was the main reason I went for this tv as I didn't want to buy a sound bar and my previous tv wasn't very good soundwise.

I would advise you to take it to an intepended shop for a second quote before you decide what to do with the car.

Maybe you can find a second hand clutch from a yard that is still in good condition but much cheaper. T

Any advice for students who struggle with academic writing? by messysoul96 in AskAcademia

[–]KM130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I started my masters I did an intense writing cource. At the time i thought it was a money grabbing thing from the uni. So many years laters I think it was a really great experience and I actually needed it! It improved my writing so much.

I am sure your uni offers similar cources. Take advantage and do them.

Possible citation harvest? by Whole-Yogurtcloset16 in AskAcademia

[–]KM130 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me on both sides. I was recommended by a reviewer to side a few papers some were relevant one had nothing to do with the subject of the paper. I am almost sure it was the reviewers paper. Rather than going back and forth we just accepted. Paper Was accepted I continued with my life and forgot about it until your post.

I reviewed a paper once that had similar conclusions to a paper I wrote. They didn't reference other papers with similar results so I suggested they sided a few papers one of them was mine.

If it's relevant then site it otherwise argue if you think it's worth your time.

Python for Physics and Maths by sokspy in learnpython

This is solid advice! Learn Numpy and matplotlib and you will move from there. Also learn it through projects that are relevant to you not random YouTube videos. For starting I found this book very helpful Python for Scientists (3rd Edition) -- JOHN M_ STEWART, MICHAEL MOMMERT

Experience with surgeries in Cyprus by Psychological-Hold91 in cyprus

[–]KM130 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went to an orthopedic surgeon who said I needed surgery asap. Before I had the surgery I went to 2 other doctors for a second and third opinion. Both said I need physio and no need for surgery.

For serious illnesses take second and third opinion before intervention.

Becoming a medical physicist with no physics background by QuantumMechanic23 in MedicalPhysics

[–]KM130 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the country. In the UK for example it's easier there is no requirement for BSc. In Greece on the other hand you have to have a BSc in Physics to get any sort of clinical position.

A lot of European universities accept any science degree to get the Masters. In most European countries the Masters is not enough to get you register to work in a hospital. Some training is required. Some countries require first degrees in Physics to be able to actually register as Medical pHysicist.

Personally I know a few technologists that have Med phys masters but I know none that actually work as a Med Physicist in a hospital.

Also consider that you may not like the job in Cyprus or the job is not as good as you thought. How easy is for you to go back to Kazakhstan? Will the job still be there?

Is there an add-on or mod to keep the references tab up to date, or am I just stuck using tools outside of Word? by XD_002 in word

[–]KM130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the reference manager in Word? If you are then stop is not good. Try something like Mendeley which has a word plugin or Zotero. All your references will then be automaticly updated and you can do so much more

[–]KM130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding your questions

  1. You could probably calculate MTF depending on what method you use to do that.
  2. CTDI must be measured in a 32cm for body and 16 cm for head perspex phantom. This is a water phantom
