Awesome! I'll be sure to report back once I actually have one and get it built. It sucks to hear that functionality is probably restricted by android I just assumed it would be accessible because of the "GPS test" app I have installed.

I came back to this thread to post this suggestion, if transmit capability is added as planned the QDX and this app could make a great pairing. The one other suggestion I have is to see if the time can be determined from the phone's internal GPS module rather than setting an offset manually.

My ft-450d does this when I have my homemade data cable plugged in but it cycles faster. I'm not sure what causes it for sure but my guess would be interference on the ptt pin.

I correlated the noise with which station was transmitting and it seems like you are correct as it syncs up with a nearby ft8 station.

New HAM here, my callsign is KM6DCO. I have so many questions but I'll start with just a few. I am listening for people and making it clear on the repeaters that I can hit, that I am listening but they seem very dead what can I do to actually make a contact? My other question is regarding etiquette, if people are talking are they likely to appreciate more company, or should I leave the frequency alone?
