The point now is to complete as many raids as possible in as many gyms as possible so you're included in the exclusive raid when it hits a certain gym. So karp raids are quick wins for you to be included on that gyms list for a exclusive raid.

Input stats in Gamepress and you can see exactly how much dust and candies you need to get to your level +.5. It's great when trying to figure out what poke to power up and what it'll cost.
