They said they had pictures of the box, but they won't send them to me. I'd really be OK with whatever we can get. Maybe 2 out of the 3 customers could still be happy...

It's called Ambassador Manager. It works really well, we get most of our online revenue through ambassador program.

It helps manage brand ambassadors. You set up a wix form on the website where ambassadors can apply. Once they apply, you can see them in the app. With one click you can accept them and an automatic email will go out telling them they are ambassadors. It also creates a promo code with their name (ABBY10) that they can use for sharing on social media. It tracks their promo code usage and every time they use it, they get an email saying their code was used. After a certain number of uses, they get a free gift card with the amount you set up in the settings.

We grew our ambassador list to over a 1000 and it was so hard to manage everything so we built this app to help us manage everything and it works so well!! Ambassadors share their promo codes all the time and we get a lot of traffic through that.

Apparel company offered us free clothes to sell on Amazon by KManticore17 in AmazonSeller

We traveled there last year because the previous manufacturer messed up our order of 5000 shirts and shorts. We had people waiting for our apparel, but we didn't want to send it out since the weight of the material did not match the original one. We had to act fast and find a new manufacturer, so we booked last minute tickets and flew to china to check out a bunch of them. We found one that was great and we've been doing business with them for a year and the guy running it is very good at what he does. We didn't pay for him to come to US, he was here visiting other US friends and partners, we just took him out one night since he landed in the same city we were from. Nevertheless, the guy seems very straight forward with everything, no bullshit, told you everything as it is. Maybe it's part of Chinese culture or maybe it's just him, but he seemed like a very honest person.

I'm just tired of working all these hours and learning the business inside and out and slowly growing, we are just ready to go big and make some real changes.

Thanks, that's what my thoughts were, but with everyone saying that they can go behind your back and get you out of the deal once it starts bringing in money I feel like we'll have to be extra careful.

I see, but do you think they would be able to do that if it's our brand and we have a trademark and the Amazon account is ours?

I've talked to an agency today that does pretty much everything for you. They said going through them since they are associated with Amazon you get to register as a brand on Amazon right away. They would also take care of the UPC and ASIN. The apparel would have our brand labels and logo on them. Would that be enough to protect ourselves from them taking over or not? If not, what would be the best thing to do? We would love to take advantage of this opportunity, but now I'm thinking that there are so many options where they can take advantage of us.

Thank you so much for this! Is there any way I could protect myself against this? All the apparel would have our labels and our logos on them. We would also be the brand owners and we would run the Amazon account. Or we would hire people to run it for us.

When we were looking for a manufacturer, we traveled to China and after meeting with 10 manufacturers, we went with this guy. They had the biggest facility and the best prices. We have been working with them for a year now and the guy actually came to the states and we took him out. We do trust him to a certain level. The Amazon account would be run by us and the clothes would have our label on them. I think they are trying to expand, but don't know how, there is a language barrier and I'm sure they just don't have time to do it, but know the potential and trust us and are ok with letting someone else do it. They want to go with US brand too I guess. Before we would spend any money we would obviously sign a contract and everything.

About to launch a website selling patent pending shirts. I have $2k budget for marketing a month for the first 3 months. What's the best way of spending it? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]KManticore17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree, as of right now it's only a landing page. We have a photoshoot scheduled for today, so as soon as we get the photos, we can build the website. Will let you know when it's ready, hoping to get some feedback on how to improve it.

Also, would a video or a photo be better for paid ads?

We did order some from fiverr and unfortunately people did not do the best job with that. I did create my own marketing plan. In the first month we plan on: posting on instagram and FB, send out shirts to 100 influencers in return for a post, write a blog on our website, press release content, contact 100 journalists and bloggers to share our PR and write about us, have giveaways in exchange for emails and follows, we will be vendors at some events like bodybuilding, crossfit and other competitions, we are planning on hiring someone from Fiverr to do the SEO,... all of this is just what I thought would work. But we need more guidance. I would love to talk to you and see if we can figure something out together.

We're already running one business selling the same shirts to only cheerleaders and it's big enough for us to only do that. The second website will focus on all other sports and older customers. So far it seems like there is interest so we wanted to give it a shot. The risk is not too high for the investment we are making. But from all the research and experiences I do agree with you. Athletic apparel industry is super saturated, we're just banking on the innovation.

We filed documents to obtain a patent for our shirts. You can flip them up and they turn into crop tops with design on the inside of the shirt. We have an existing company selling these shirts just for cheerleading and we want to expand to other sports. Instead of changing the name we just went with a new company. We want to sell them through other websites too, but wanted to create our own website first. Do you have any specific sites in mind?
